It's wild to finally see the convo at the end of the film and realize these 2 titans of the 20th century were talking about humanities eventual self inflicted doom, meanwhile Strauss is in the background thinking "That jerk Oppenheimer probably told Einstein I have a tiny wiener.... GRRRR!!!!"

well, its a fictional conversation, but you get the message of oppenheimer and Einstein

I think that’s what’s so funny about this movie. We see 3 sides. Oppenheimer building it. His torment. And then Strauss thinking it’s all about him like he’s that important😭😭😭

The scariest part about this ending, which most people who watched the movie realised, is that we are currently living in the moments before this could happen

This might go down as one of the most iconic endings in film history. It’s that good.

I find it fascinating that some people watching the ending focus on the legacy for Oppenheimer as an individual and some focus on the legacy for the world.

this is why i’m so confused when people say “it’s just a movie with people talking in a boardroom” this entire movie is our past present and future. This is real life damager that effects everyone and idfk how they miss that

Same, i watched it in the cinema not knowing what the movie was about, best choice ever. also if i was a content creator i would also edit the face Albert made when walking away to put in. Makes the reaction complete right

Albert Einstein and Robert Oppenheimer are talking and that mf actually thinks they talked about him. These were 2 of the greatest minds of our time. You're not that guy, and the fact that he actually harboured a grudge against for him god knows how long when Oppenheimer was literally carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders

When Christopher Nolan says Oppenheimer is the most important man in history, I think he means that he's the one who kickstarted humanity's extinction.

Alfred Nobel felt guilty by creating dynamite so he made Nobel Prize to recognize advancements in all areas of stuides for the betterment of humanity...now imagine the guilt Oppenheimer felt. The mental trauma of this reality he helped bring into this world is terrifying

Actually, I believe it was Hitler, because we would not have moved toward that eventuality where it not for fighting him and the Nazis. Although, in reality, I think even he was an eventuality of the insane greed of humans over the eons.

My favourite movie. Cillian Murphy is superb in this film, and I gotta admit when I first saw this and saw oppenheimer as an old man, I immediately broke.

Easily the most _elegant_ movie ending I’ve seen. It wraps up several plot threads, answers some key questions, and leaves one hell of a lasting impression to contemplate after the credits roll.

The spectre of what he is imagining is a reality closer for all of us living today than most of us have ever seen. It brings me to tears when I watch it because although it’s just a film ending, those words are so very, very powerful and true. Seeing the reaction of everyone on here and reading the comments, so many feel the same.

You know Oppenheimer stole the truth for the ones he said he was "trying to help" proves to me the truth was not in his hands it is and will only be the death of their own selfishness. I can't wait for "them to admit their wrongs"

One of the last things JFK did before "a quick trip to Dallas" was sign the award for Oppenheimer. JFK lost his older brother (Joseph Kennedy Jr) in ww2 in the Pacific and the brother that their father had originally groomed for office so he knew the sacrifices that Oppenheimer did for his country and he wanted to personally award him. But he was assassinated in Dallas, So even though Oppenheimer's award was signed by John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson is the one that had to present it to him..

its a great ending. TO BE FAIR even if it took LONGER with deviation of about 5 to 10 years, do you think atomic bomb wouldnt be made if Oppenheimer didnt exist? because i genuinely dont think so. someone somewhere that maybe have less moral and more crazy will make it and the outcome will still be the same. i mean…the allies would win regardless atomic bomb were made or not. the bomb isnt even directed to the NAZI. its to Japan. a country that is so far on the east and only big conflict with US is Pearl Harbour no? if…NAZI lose first, wouldnt japan surrender regardless what US do to Heroshima or Nagasaki? and why 2 bombs? isnt 1 threatening enough in their situation?
