I love.... Fantasia! I said: I wasn't going to watch the remake, because I absolutely didn't enjoy the first one. But because, Fantasia was in and other women. I really enjoyed it, this time.

Me too the black talent. Omg!! Stellar. Loved sering Tamela do her thing on the big screen. Loved that Ricky Dillard he ad a major opportunity thru this film. Did you see the dancing. Not just from the actors. Oh m Lord. It was amazing. It just aint no talent like ours. Period.

Fantasia you did wonderful to this BET Edited musical play! The script was horrible and not put together well! Musical all together should've made it go straight to Amazon, Netflix, or t.v.. Taraji was a good sale for Shug! To much money for a movie that should had been remade as a musical! The original was great!

It's not a remake. There is the 1985 adaptation and there is the Broadway musical. This is the film adaptation of the Broadway musical. Both movies and the Broadway musical add to the legacy of Alice Walker's Pulitzer Prize winning book. The movies and the musical wouldn't be possible without the book.

I am so glad it was remade. So happy for all of the opportunities that he created for so many especially for Fantasia. She deserves it and Danielle as well the level of talent. If anybody saw this musical, I’m telling you you ain’t never seen this many black folks walking in their talents and gifts at the level that they did in your life the dancing was fun, nominal the saying it was phenomenal. The acting was phenomenal. It was just a blessing to see black folk, live in smack dab in the middle of their gifts and enjoying it and yes, getting paid for it and then us getting to enjoy it. It was all good.! Some folks would wish anything to spite Oprah, so many black folk jealous. It’s like we can’t stand to see our folk super mega, rich like a lot of other folk you would never see them come against each other the way our folk do especially not in a public platform up they stick together, and they keep their money together, and amongst each other.

Too late, the damage is done. The movie flopped. 100 m budget, only made 58 m, 24 m left for y’all bc the rest of the 58 went to the theaters that showed the movie. It flopped not bc of fantasia, but bc of Tarij p crying about pay in general, no one likes Oprah bc of Maui , she’s been cancelled by most last year and wants to be relevant, AND no one asked for a musical without fantasia AND other famous singers and actors … it… flopped… bad. Already being pulled from 2000 theaters and now streaming …. Damn damn damn Oprah

It’s not to late. Overseas audience are not like in America! We love to find something wrong in America! They will show us how to love musicals! Barbie 1.4 Billions Mean Girls 50 in two weeks. Oprah was a billionaire before the movie and she is still one. Anything she or anyone else lost will be recuperated or written off as a loss. This effort to punish her for something she was not responsible for only cost the ones who worked so hard what they deserved.
