I love that line about Grindelwald not understanding the nature of simple things. He sees them as too insignificant to bother with learning how they work. This was Sauron's downfall too.

I find that Nagini's origin story is the most sad and cruel of the entire franchise, we know how here story ends but seeing that eventually she had no choice but to turn into an snake without been able to communicate with anyone, except Voldemort, been trapped in her own body, growing knowing there was no hope or cure, used again and again by people with different agendas. Her story is the saddest.

This movie was the Empire Strikes Back of HP films. It's so dark and serious and emotional. I was crying the entire last 30 minutes. So good.

Johnny Depps portrayel as Gellert Grindalwald is so spot on. I wish he was still playing this character if it wasn't for the court case last year. JK Rowling stood by him and she didn't want to lose Johnny. It were a shock Queenie joining the dark wizard at the end. This was my favourite of the two. The Secrets of Dumbledores good too.

I think it's awesome how, although this second film was the least liked on release, most reactors like it the most out of the three. I love that. I do hope they keep making these eventually.

04:18...if u watch the climax act of fb1 closely we can see a tiny part of obscurial escaping and Newt staring at it (right after it seems to get destroyed). Fun fact: there is an alternate opening scene for fb2 in which we can see that tiny bit of obscurial travelling back to his foster home, gaining its human form again, finding his adoption papers and later on getting into a ship that take him to paris.

Newt, Eddie Redmayne, is seriously my favorite actor, so versatile! He won an award for his portrayal of Stephen Hawkins in The Theory of Everything, and I don’t have Netflix but he plays a nurse who was a serial killer, a true story. I’ve seen the trailer and I’ll have to watch it at some point!😊 it’s called The Good Nurse.

This one & the next one are 2 of the most visually beautiful films I think I’ve ever seen ✨

I think this is the best of the fantastic beasts movies even tho there is alot wrong with the lore and the timelines in this movie i can overlook that because the whole story that it builds towards is interesting and especially with the dumbledores and so on. But in the third movie its like they forgot all the seeds planted in this one and just did a 180 storywise and nothing makes sense.. you will see for yourself. the movies look good and have music and the feel is good but the story is just so inconsistent and makes no sense.. I just hope they learned from these movies and the new TV show and future moveis in the universe will be better :)

Cool that your back on this series! More connection to our favorite characters in this one, but also to not so well known ones like Nagini and Nicolas Flamel. Jude Law is perfect for Dumbledore (I sadly didn't recognize him the first time). Wish they could have kept Johnny Depp. Newt is the best in this series for me. I was curios about his lack of eye contact on occasion and wondered if the actor was autistic. Turns out it was a character choice, which I find interesting. What amazing animals and affects. Not the same impact on me as HP, I lose attention sometimes, buuuuut still enjoyable. I do like #2 better as well.

In fact Tom Riddle was about four months old during the timeline of the story ! His mother gave birth to him on the steps of the orphenage before dying of a borken heart. (T R was born the 31st of December 1926). Sad story is that Merope Gaunt enchanted Tom Riddle Sr (a Muggle as you remember) and after some time, thinking that he would really be in love with her, she lifted it. He wasn't in love and he left her. She was already pregnant and had barely enough strength to give birth to the baby before she died. There seems to be retcon of Pr McGonagall's birth date. She was supposed to be born in 1935 (after the story) but here she seems to already be teaching there in about the 1910s... So in the movie, she must be about the same age as Dumbledore born in 1881. In HP books Dumbledore was a Transfiguration teacher (in the flash back in Chamber of Secrets) but I think that as brilliant as he is, he must have had the possibility to teach many subjects (except for Divination which he never studied as he says himself in Order of the Phoenix book). Dumbledore and Grindelwald were also lovers (or so Dumbledore thought, Grindelwald used Albus's feelings to get him to join him in the quest to Wizards supremacy). Umbreakable Vow is a spell, the Blood Pact is the same kind of thing but with a physical object that none of the makers can break, theoritically, it's the Horcrux version of an Umbreakable Vow. Side note: Flamel is a big deal in French magical society in HP verse, he's one of the founders of the Beauxbatons Academy with his wife Pernelle. The Chinese beast has the abilty to warp between places, one warp jump can reach up to 1500 miles ! Cool thing is it bypasses any security measure. Sadly the next one will be the last, leaving us on a LITTERAL cliffhanger ! Damn you producers !

This shows just how evil Voldemort was. He took Nagini who was once a young kind hearted woman and twisted and warped her into the monster we see in Harry Potter.

Voldemort's death eater How small is this world Oh, and also Voldemort was born in December 1926, so he was born in between previous movie and this one And 2 things about that Hogwarts scene : Dumbledore was teaching transfiguration before he became headmaster, so I don't know why they made him teach DADA here And McGonagall shouldn't even be born in 1927 but she is already a teacher here So they messed it up big time, but I guess it was done for pure nostalgia and in hope that most of viewers won't notice that

J.K. Rolling confirmed that A) Dumbledore was gay and B) he and Grindelwald were lovers. However Dumbledore couldn't accept Grindelwald's ideals so he walked away.

Nonetheless I really enjoyed the series still to this day as well as the books even though some people say this particular book and movie tried to destroy the set lore that Harry Potter already had but I just think it was correcting them

Ya these were supposed to be 5 movies as a series but the movies did progressively worse in the box office so they canceled. I feel like if this was a series on it’s own and not related to Harry Potter it could’ve done better but there’s just a lot of inaccuracies and loose ends from even this movie to the 3rd one so if u compare it to the original movies (which so many do) its just no contest. Still love these movies but disappointed in the execution. Hopefully the new Harry Potter tv series where they have 7 season for each of the 7 Harry Potter books will be really good since they’ll have more time to include everything. They need to be super careful with their choices tho lol

I think, sadly, this film was essentially overshadowed by the Amber Heard allegations on its release and never got its props as a movie. The fact that Ezra Miller was seemingly beginning to spiral off the beaten path at this time only added to the critical analysis that what we were served was, whilst a decent meal, the rescued, unburnt segments of what could have been a dish for the ages.

Corvus was dead, to begin with... and that is kind of a big issue. Either Yussuf made an unbreakable vow that was already impossible to keep, or at some point after he made the vow it became impossible to keep. I don't know what would happen in that situation but I feel like SOMETHING should probably happen. Either the spell should be broken, or it should fail to cast in the first place, or Yussuf should just die. Either way, the fact that Corvus is dead & the vow is still in place is pretty inexplicable. Not however, as inexplicable as Queenie's sudden decision to join Grindelwald. If we accept the racial allegory presented (that a witch marrying a muggle man is somewhat akin to an inter-racial marriage) then Queenie has literally just joined the KKK. Would have made more sense for Jacob to join because he couldn't take another world war. Let's be real though, Queenie was on crack this whole film. Why the frick did she enchant Jacob ? He 100% would have gone with her willingly, I am flabbergasted by that choice. To this day, I still don't get it. Maybe if they were staying in the US & Jacob didn't want to be with her because she would get in trouble then I could just about buy it but this... this is not good.

i know everyone (specially the ones that are Deep fans and not that much HP fans) HATE that he was replaced by another actor who they basically barely know. Mickelsen is a god, the dissapointing with the third one is totally on the script. No spoilers, i HATE where they're taking this franchise to. They're doing the same that last HP movies except there's no books here to take base on, just a poor scripts being written under a lot of preassure and with poor creativity freedom (thats particularly what i hate) more "wooo holliwood, humor haha, easy drama, lights and sparkles" and less (barely noticeable actually) the creativity that caracterizes HP books. This one is the last "good" of Newt saga unfortunately and its the most sad thing bcs this is being leaded to the moment mentioned in books where thakes place the legendary "Dumbledore vs Grindelwald battle" literally "most amazing battle ever in magical history" and im so much worried that is gonna be dissapointing for the fans that have been waiting for it since the first mention, yeah, this story isn't about Newt anymore. They also have a work with first appearing of Tom Riddle who is about to get born. This could be an amazing spin off story for magical world and continuation for MORE MAGIC and they're screwing bit by bit and im so sad about it. Anywaylove ur reactions magical girl. BTW since you're reading the books, u should read "fantastic beasts and where to find them" "Quidditch a brief story" "tales of beedle the bard" actually real books so magical and the texts (written by JK bout everything u want to know bout magical world in the official pages, thats how u got expert XD. I love the first 2 Beasts movies but dislike the 3rd. It feel that the story unfortunately folded to some serious media smearing and the creatives, because of a mixture of that with COVID and cast issues, felt they had to truncate, lighten up, and simplify the plotting, and also tie up a bunch of characters arcs too soon. It’s unfortunate
