A tip of the hat to Alabama...Randy Owens, Teddy Gentry, Mark Herndon, and the late great Jeff Cook. They were the sound of a generation. Their duet with Lionel Richie, "Deep River Woman", will always live in my heart.

While I never rooted for Jeff Gordon, Gordon is a 4x NASCAR Cup Series Champion. I can honestly say Jeff Gordon is one of the best NASCAR drivers of the 90s & early 2000s. Gordon well deserved his 2018 Motosports Hall of Fame & his 2019 NASCAR Hall of Fame. He's easily in the Top 50 NASCAR drivers of all time.

I love Brad Paisley no matter what he sings and I grew up listening to and loving Alabama. I consider this video one of the greats. Yes, Jeff Gordan is a Nascar driver. If you want to delve into the history of Nascar, you will find it began with moonshiners. The moonshiners modified their cars to go as fast as possible so they could outrun the law and it developed into them racing each to see who had the fastest car. If you go back far enough in history, some of the first Nascar drivers were arrested themselves for running moonshine. The official sport evolved from those first racers.

Ok so Alabama's music is the soundtrack of my youth. Pick any of the songs mentioned in this song by them and react to them. Feel's So Right, Dixie Land Delight, Love in the First Degree. You will recognize so many of the licks in this song from Alabama songs. Yes Jeff Gordon is a NASCAR driver. If you look into the history of NASCAR, you might become a fan. Prohibition and moonshine runners. The song Cooperhead Road, the first part anyway, is about ridgerunners (delivering illegal liquor to people as fast as possible). Also, Ronnie Dunn of Brooks and Dunn did a few solo songs. My favorite one is Coast of Livn'. If you can add that one to the list, I would appreciate it. Thank you!

I've always loved this video. The guy he is talking to is Jeff Gordon, NASCAR Racing Champion (retired now). Oh, and the cars? Chevy Corvettes. Old School ;) Oh, and Jeff and Brad's wives are driving the cars. Darryl Waltrip (retired NASCAR Driver) is the old guy in the golf cart, and Alabama is....well, Alabama :)

The black car Brad was driving when you paused the video was a 1st Generation Chevrolet Corvette; couldn't tell precisely the year but it would have been from 58-61. The red car the girl was driving early in the video was a 2nd Gen Corvette from the mid 60s; I'm guessing 67. The were a couple other classic cars some girls were driving but couldn't get a very good look at them, but they didn't appear to be Corvettes. You can see the Corvette logo on the first two cars, which is two flags crossed, one a checkered flag and the other a red flag with a Chevrolet symbol and usually a fleur-de-lis.

Jeff is a BASCAR driver/was, he is driving a Chevy Camaro, The cop was in a late 60s early 70s Dodge Charger, the other 2 cars were early 60s Chevy Corvettes, actually I think it was just one car but the paint type on it changes color, or seems to, when light hits it a certain way. That technique was quite popular with hot rodders , they used Pearlized paints.

Never met Brad Paisley, but briefly met his parents once. Very nice salt of the earth folks from smalltown WV. The Paisleys are best friends with my former neighbor's parents. One year when Brad was in town for a show, both sets of parents were over my neighbor's house. Funny seeing a picture of a 8yr Brad Paisley holding my neighbor as an infant considering how tall & broad my neighbor grewup to be.

First, some recommendations inspired by this song: "Another Sunday in the South" by Miranda Lambert; then, listen to Alabama's original "Love in the First Degree", and then listen to the cover of it by Wade Bowen and Brandy Clark. Now, I'm going to have to be the skunk at the garden party and give some background on this video. Hank Junior was right when he said country music is a family, and being Southern family, there are some feuds. The three guys from Alabama in the video are actually cousins. This video was made after they had mostly retired. For their entire career, their drummer was a very notable member of the group. He is originally from Massachusetts, and he and the other three all met in Myrtle Beach (?) when the cousins' drummer had quit on them, and the drummer's band had deserted him. After retiring, they then informed the drummer that he had actually been a "contract worker" for Alabama, which they stated was really just the three of them, for the entire 15+ years of their popularity. They sued him for remunerations. It was well known among country fans at the time, and most took the drummer's side, although he settled and paid them something (Google it, it won't be hard to find). So in making this video, they "conveniently" cut the drummer out of all of the old videos and worked Brad in, in his place. Still a clever video and kick-ass song, but with a side of snark that is not missed by long-time country fans.

Jeff Gordon is retired Nascar and Darrell Waltrip is also a retired Nascar legend and knon for his "boogidy - boogidy" call out when the cars start racing. After both retired both became announcers and both in the Nascar Hall of Fame. Muscle cars and Corvettes are still popular in the states and there are car shows all around the country as well as car clubs. I think the Ford Willys Coupe is fine and also rare to find an original. I love hot rod cars and nice to see you appreciate them too!

When I was a kid I was on a church trip somewhere. And our youth pastor was driving the van and I was sitting in the second seat behind him. And he told us a story about when he was in college and he met his Girlfriend who by this time was his wife and mother of his children. He had a bench seat truck and she was sitting right next to him and he had his arm around her shoulders and he got pulled over by a cop. The cop came up and said I noticed you guys sitting so close he says son don't you think it's probably a better idea to use both hands. Without missing a beat my pastor told him well i'd love to officer but then what would I drive with. 😂😂😂
