This is what you get when you mix Kodak film 🎥 and garbage from a landfill 🗑️ you get "another life" it was a very very very bad storyline with average acting and decent VFX and CGI.. roll it all together you get a flop that was 1 of very few shows that deserved to be cancelled by Netflix. Now that alone should tell you all exactly what to expect from "another life" (should have been called "another mistake")

This show violates the Twilight Zone rule. which says you're allowed one major suspension of disbelief plot device per episode. Any plot twists and turns after that must be traced back as logical consequences of that first one. Good writers will start with one such device and then get where they want to be by building on that, not by adding one random/improbable thing on top of another.

Even on earth we see innovation can be helped by government, but is often outside if not in spite of government. Although benevolent leaders can come to power, they’re not eternal & in all cases will be replaced, almost always by those with lesser values (though many may view lesser values as different or even greater).

I think either a panspermia idea would be fun or have completely alien life which would never be able to directly interact with us due to the handedness of molecules. Or a story about how an interstellar ship left with a postmortal crew with hibernation technology and comes back after a few thousand years and humanity on earth entered a new dark age and are essentially back to classical antiquity period so they have to steer human development again.

If a race of beings was smart enough to build an ai that could topple them and take over, then surely that same AI would've encountered viruses that tried to stop it from taking over in the first place. Oh, I just watched this last week. It’s interesting. It’s good, but there are at least three types of “aliens”. Some are cool, some aren’t. They left the discovery of … I don’t know, 150 million _other_ types of aliens until the very end. But it’s good, they all like us and want to be friends. Only after we figure out how to deal with the problem aliens. (It just amazes me that _we_ aren’t the problematic aliens.)

Ian maybe was going to stab Nico in the back, but never got that chance if so. In that scene, Ian moved in looking like he was about to attack Nico... whether he was going to attack her or just wanted to save some face by proving to her that he COULD take her out if he wanted ... is never known as Nico did not take any chances upon seeing him looking menacing, and immediately ended him in case he WAS about to try to kill her. This serves to demonstrate how important it would be in any such future mission that professionals be selected to crew the flight rather than recruiting a random dysfunctional CW drama level parody of a crew.
