Dreamville is literally the best label. Looks like artists release when they want to release and there is much needed support and even independence when needed. Cole doesn't leave any of his people hanging at all and the entire Dreamville roster is always performing at Dreamville fest every year. Even Reason from TDE did collabs and flowed and enjoyed Dreamville so much on Revenge of the Dreamers

Drake would find easy preys on them, one for going through drugs issues at the time, and the other one for having confidence issues lol, these two would be sooo easy to shelve and put on the sweatshop on a full-time basis😂😂😂 An they would NEVER reach half of where they got today

He did sign “The Weeknd” and kept him up under him for years didn’t let him drop any music or help him with features he literally signed him just to suppress him from being the biggest artist out of Canada same with Partynxtdoor kept them suppressed he doesn’t want anyone coming out of Canada bigger than him or on his level so The Weeknd signed a deal by selling his soul and got out of Canada and expanded he said it was the only way he could reach the top like a mainstream Drake he wanted to stay independent but Drake kept him from growing his music been the exact same since the start just a lot of suppression from Drake

But what you’re completely missing is Griselda Records wouldn’t even be a thing to praise if it wasn’t for Shady Records. Shady signed 2 different deals with Griselda - one contract for WSG and Conway to each release an album and then one group album - so a total of 3 projects on Shady. But the 2nd deal with Shady was a distribution deal. This deal allowed each Griselda member to completely do whatever they wanted and release as often as they wanted. This along with the nonstop play on Shade 45 really helped them blow up.

Sorry but you’re the one who’s wrong. They were not big before signing to Shady. Do some research on their sales, streams etc.. They were barely known outside Buffalo in 2016. They definitely had some underground buzz but that’s it. They’ve all talked about living in the p’s before signing and now they’re all millionaires. Signing to Shady was life changing for all of them and I’m tired of ppl not doing their research before making vids like this and before making ignorant comments

What do they do that's different? If it's just a difference in pay rates and securities to artists, then all you've described is a better label.

It sadly is not that simple. Record labels provide funds and marketing for your record. So unless you are a Kanye where you can go independent and get a number 1 album most artists need a label

You should look into G59 records, they got a lot of good talent I can see the whole label blowing up here soon especially with germs recent album and with the boys dropping an album In a couple months with features from all of their artist, it's gonna be a good year for G59

Labels I'd sign to if given the chance (In Order): 1.Dreamville (Coles my favorite rapper and gives the most support, freedom and visibility. Ion think I'd ever worry about being shelfed+ Cole features I'm in) 2.PGLang (Kendrick and his crew just seem like really chill ppl to be around I feel like it would be like linking with distant older cousins. I feel like it would be Alotta mentoring not only in music but as a Black Man.) 3.Cactus Jack Records (I've been watching Travis behind the scenes since like 2016/2017 interviews, vlogs, BTS etc. and I feel like with his crew I could be the most free/experimental. The energy he brings to the studio as well as the beats they come up with is just unmatched IMO. I feel like every studio session and show would literally be a party I'm def down)

J. Cole isn't even the best rapper of the dreamville group and i say that with the utmost respect for him. He clearly has great taste and has signed some of my personal favorites in the last few years like JID, earthgang, and ari lennox like... The talent on that label is insane, it's good to see those artists not being wasted and being able to succeed with their music

Know your sound. Research subsidiary labels that cater to that sound. Send in demos and speak to executives that will take solicited material. Keep doing this until they get you in that building. That’s it. That’s all
