Content Warning // Suicide
This layout was started some time after the release of Quadeca's newest album "I Didn't Mean To Haunt You" in November 2022. This album revolves around the serious topics of life after death, suicide / suicidal thoughts, and grief from loved ones. The two songs from this album that stood out to me were "born yesterday" and "fantasyworld", and I eventually chose the latter to make a layout with. The song paints the afterlife as a utopian-like place, and the only way to get there is by committing suicide.
While working on this project, I eventually decided to dedicate it to Leo (aka TSguy), who was a prominent member of the Geometry Dash community and a distant friend of mine who took his own life in September 2021. I have always wanted to do something to commemorate him, and I thought that this was the perfect opportunity to do that. I wanted to center this layout around Leo's "fantasy world", as well as the legacy he left behind in the Geometry Dash community. I chose to release this on this day specifically because it would've been Leo's 19th birthday if he were still alive. The icons shown in the video (as well as a handful of other ones), are Leo's icons that he used to use.
Before anyone asks, yes, I am okay. This project was emotionally hard to bring to life, with it taking a toll on me at one point. I am just glad that it is finally out for the world to see now, as this is my first publicized layout in an entire year. I hope everyone who comes across this will appreciate this project that commemorates a once-friend of mine.
