the thing I don't get is how butt hurt people get when you don't agree with their taste. I think they are looking for validation since they respect you, and when you don't agree they feel betrayed and can't handle it because of wtvr reason. Not everybody likes the same shit and people need to realize that. If everyone was into the same stuff the world, music/art, and life would be fucking boring

I disagree completely. I have four Chapman guitars, and they are all perfect. Out of the box, they were in tune. Not a single flaw anywhere. They sound amazing. They play like butter. Honestly, they were exactly the guitars I have already been envisioning if I ever justify the price of having a custom-shop guitar made for me, and here they are, being sold stock in the spec I was wanting to build anyway. They are what I use when I record. They are what I use when I play shows every single weekend. I absolutely love them, and plan to buy more of them in the future. As for the lack of quality you mentioned, as I have said before, that is most-often due to the dealers, not necessarily the guitars. For example, if you bought much of anything from Guitar Center, then lack of quality is exactly what you need to expect. Guitar Center is the Walmart of the guitar world. You cannot expect much more than that. Every single Chapman I own came from Riff City Guitars. They were a Mom and Pop shop, so they genuinely cared about what they sold. More importantly, they were very personal and friendly with you. They were also OCD meticulous about setups, inspections, even giving you a certificate detailing that process. I completely trust anything from Riff City. Already, I miss Riff City. Great times, there.

As there seem to be a lot of In Flames fans in this section, can somebody tell me a band that is equally heavy AND melodic as the Clayman-Album? I love this IF album, the guitar tone, the rhythms, the melodies, the singing... A lot of people told me, At The Gates were similar but to me they were way less focussed on melodies in comparison to IF...or maybe I'm just listening to the wrong album?

The office idea is a good one. Not just for home life but also for business. Plus it gives you a new place to make your own. Running everything out of the house/apartment is good for a short time when starting off but you're past that point now. Plus with all the guest you get during the year its better to keep them at a work setting than your actual home.

Imo the new in flames stuff appeals to a wider crowd and frankly im a big fan. Their older stuff is good but I think it's about time they changed their style. @@dokterkarel I see what you mean but at the end of the day the style they choose it's their choice. At this point its either you listen to it or you don't. Take Bring me the horizon for example, they completely changed their sound from metalcore/deathcore to pop/rock. They lost a lot of their die-hard fans but they gained loads of new ones as well. It's the same thing with In flames except In flames has gone the more mainstream metal route. I feel like you can really hear this in the title track of the mask and when I first heard I am Above I lost my shit because I didn't expect that from them. I remember when I first heard Rusted Nail I was a bit confused at first but I got used to it and became an even bigger fan than I was before. I still listen to stuff like Pinball Map (and other stuff from clayman) often but I find that I listen to their new stuff a lot more just because I've heard their 90's and 2000's stuff so much already.

Come Clarity (Bleeding heart stuff, but not overwhelming) 6. A Sense of Purpose (A bit poppy but still metal) 7. Soundtrack to Your Escape (What is that snare? Not as bad as St. Anger but still) 8. Reroute to Remain (Too raw for my tastes. I'm a KLEEN boi) 9. Lunar Strain (Great debut album. Once again, not a fan of the raw sound) 10. Subterranean (Never really stuck with me) 11. If someone's asking the question "how do you get recognised" then it's highly likely they never will be. Just asking the question shows a complete lack of understanding of what is required and a vain hope there's some kind of quick hack so they don't have to put the time and work in.

Being a programmer I totally understand the challenge. A lot of people have a hard time understanding why working from home would be hard, but the truth is once you bring work home it can become non-stop and hard to pull away as there is always more that needs done. I think taking steps to separate the two is the best for your personal life and your professional career. The separation is great to keep you from burning out. Good luck Ola and thank you for all the hard work.

Re: Getting noticed. I noticed what got me hooked on OLA's Videos -- The unspoken facial expressions (eye contact, head movement, other body language + humor) -- communicates so much - very entertaining -- example, "Best Metal Distortion Pedal 2019" - does this pedal chug ? nods head, as if to say "almost there ... almost chugging " ...Keep Rockin OLA. Not sure if this is true, but Ola himself might not know that this is one factor why people watch him. He can communicate with just super subtle changes in facial expression, and still say a lot, without saying anything.

Hi Ola! I totally understand your need to disconnect home life from work life. I drive 2h per day going to and back from the office, and that helps me unwind my work stress, while I'm in my car driving. By the time I'm home I have left work at the office, and I can focus on my wife & son. Good luck in finding a good office. I must say I will miss your old style of videos in your home office, specially the ones where you ask Louise things etc... those were always hilarious.
