I know that this video does not cover everything there is to know about Australia’s laws and policies, international student visa processing, commercial cookery, and such. This is not about the technicals if that’s what you’re hoping, sorry. My answers are more of my experiences and sharing with ya’ll first hand. Therefore, if you have more questions then throw them on the comment section (as long it’s not about PR thingy 🙃 that topic is tricky as it changes almost every 3 months)!

Hello! everyone can study a chef course. It's a matter of how you're gonna explain in your application a sudden shift of career or course. I recommend to consult to an agent to give you further clarifications about the current Australian student visa regulations.

Hi, AC thanks for sharing your ideas on how it goes the Commercial Cookery program. Unfortunately I have tried to inquire with Academia and they replied me with a positive answers and my second email to them was not good because they refused my application maybe because in the questionnaire they sent it to me I have had a question about on how to get a program with PR pathway the reason why I mentioned this to them because I want to make it sure if I applied for Commercial Cookery program I have a chance to apply for a PR. Do you think this is not good to mention about the PR pathway when applying for any school in AU? I appreciate your response, thanks and stay safe and keep sharing your journey in AU.)

Hi Henry. Sorry to hear that. You shouldn’t mention about PR or staying longer than your student visa to your school and to the Australian immigration. This is highly discouraged. Talk about to your agent if you have future plans of staying longer in AU. Student visa in plain description is: You go to australia just to study and that you or your family is capable of funding everything including living expenses. You don not go there to work and earn. Nor to acquire PR. When they sense that this is your motive. They will likely decline your school and visa application.

Hi! I have a doubt.. I'm planning to move to AU to become a chef.. How much do I need to save to come straight away with a student visa and start to work and study? I can save up to 5000 british pound starting from today in a year. than what should I do? do you advice to Come with a working holiday and keep saving for the student visa or I can start from that one straight away?

Hey ac! Planning to take academia cookery (1 year) and mba in aus institute in mngt (1) year. Or another pathway is kaplan 2 year mba. Which of the 2 paths Will be enough to get the post study visa subclass 485. Thanks for answering

Any pathway cookery or mba is fine as long as you get to study the same course for 2 years straight. Based on what i know, 1 year is not enough to get subclass485

Hi! Is VET still okay/recommended even if you have almost 10 years of experience and are 33 years old? I spoke with a consultant saying they wouldn't recommend it for the above reasons. We don't have the biggest budget for a Bachelor's degree(did not graduate college) but really want to study in Australia.

I think the reason they wont recommend it is bcos VET is like TESDA is Philippines (assuming you are from PH hihi). Only the accreditation here is high unlike TESDA. Therefore, that much experience is like overqualified for VTE. That may be a ground for visa decline.

Hi I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management and a Diploma in Culinary Arts. Our school also issued Australian Certificate III in commercial cookery. I’m planning to enroll in Australia for Certificate IV. May I just ask if will I be able to secure a job in Australia after finishing the said course and apply for PR?

It’s more complicated than just get a job and apply for PR. There are steps, time, and skills needed for it. But you can def get a job easily esp now.

Continue to work in the kitchen. Gain as much experience as you can and aim for a career progression. ALso, find an employer/head chef that's willing to train and nurture talents. :)

Now, students can work full time..dati mahirap kasi bawal. Pero working full time can definitely pay your bills and necessities. Hope that helps 🙂

Hi! of course! mas madali for you kasi you don't have to justify why you want to study a cookery course in Australia! Commercial cookery certificates here is parang TESDA sa atin. well acknowledged lng talaga dito and pinag-aralan mo.

Hi! It is possible if of course you have the confidence and skill to lead a kitchen. I believe it will depend on your employer if they see you fit for that position :)

If you’re aiming to be in a leadership position..better get cert4 as well. Certificate 3 is cook level if you don’t have experience. I’d rather get both in my opinion..

For now. Both of you can work full time. But I don’t know til when Australia will allow it. Before, me and my husband can only work 20hrs/week

I am wondering what is the level of certainty that I can go to Australia as International student if I completed the requirements to go there, AECC Global is also the agency where I seek for help or guidance. Thank you. I am still applying for my passport and I am still 17, turning 18 this July. I have relatives there that are already Australian citizens. Hello. I think the level of certainty depends on your letter/SOP. The agency is there to guide and process everything for you. But how you construct your letter and express your reason, motivation, passion is important. In saying this of course, you’ve passed the initial requirements like medical, etc.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I now have a better picture of Academia. I am thinking of taking the course package in Brisbane campus. A few questions, if I am able to save the equivalent of three-fourths of the tuition fee before my enrolment, do you think it is doable to earn enough to make a living by working part time? Also, do you think it is not that rare for graduates to get a job offer with post-graduate Visa?

I think it’s possible if you work full time. Right now, students can work full time but i dont know when this easing will change. I believe it’s not rare. Australia at the moment is in need of skilled workers and that statistics are projected to go for at least 10 years due to the pandemic. So it’s the best time to come to AU :)

@@acdyrit Thanks for your reply. Lets say, if the relaxation of working hours remains, do you think it’s possible to work full time and study satisfactorily (assignments and such) at the same time? I will be able to save for the tuition fee, but not for the cost of living, so I’m concerned about how much I can work during my studies.

Hello po. Pwd po kaya mag enrol ng commercial cookery kahit na business administration yung natapos ko po? Pero after graduation naman po di ko na pinursue yung course ko and I have experience po as a kitchen staff for 1 year and assistant cook 1 yr din po. Thank youuuuu.

Of course! Mostly sa nga student dito na ngcookery. Di naman sila cook dati. They come from different backgrounds. Youll just have to justify your reason bakit cookery ang kukunin mong course. Plus with your kitchen experience, i think that will support your purpose po. 😊

Hello. You said that students only need to work 40 hrs per fortnight, is it possible to take another job but you wouldn’t include it on the 40 hrs? Thank you and your video is very informative 🙂 Edit: i think regarding PR, you need to look for a sponsor either your boss or if you have a relative living in australia. That is what my friend did after her working visa expired. But i’m still not sure, it might be different for student visa but still ask your agency about it. Another note based on what i read, not all courses have pathway for PR.

is it possible but it is not recommended since it is against Australian law for international students. For PR, yes work sponsorship is available and state invitation too. 🙂

Yes! Everyone can apply. You just need to give them enough reason why you shifted to cookery. And a huge reason why a lot of applicants get denied is they’re after the pathway to PR. It’s a BIG NO.

Oh that's the least of your problems. Tattoo is not taboo here, it's pretty well accepted and actually perceived to as cool or awesome. I want to have one soon! 😃

Hello! Congratulations! Wala namn din po akong experience when I started cookery in Academia. I think the school knows that hindi lahat na ng enrol is may experience na. They will teach you from common sense to basic to techniques po to prepare you for commercial kitchen. As i mentioned in my videos, i definitely recommend the school. If you’re after quality education. And iba kasi pang PR lng habol. Kaya they just enrol sa murang school wihtout adequate learning and support.

For commercial cookery course (trade courses), partners have the same work hour restrictions as the student. :)

For now, students are allowed to work full time due to the pandemic po. And I can say, with full working rights, yes kaya naman. But i’m not sure how long this easing of student hours is gonna last.

Hi pwedeng pwede. I met many International students here that are fresh from high school or senior high school graduates. Your length of study will depend on the package that you will choose if you’re just going to get the certificates or you want to go to the advanced diplomas. Mine was 2.5 years

Hi po! I will be studying in Academia in melbourne intake on july this year. Taking cert 3 and 4 in cookry and diploma,advance diploma in hopitality management.
