On 2nd September 2017, one of my local buses (19325, WA08NPD, Stagecoach South West Enviro 400) had just finished service on the Hop2 was out of service and returning to the depot.
The driver of the vehicle noticed a burning smell and when he realised the vehicle was on fire he stopped at a safe place and called the police.
The fire crews came as soon as they could and made steady progress with the fire, using more than 2500 litres of water.
The fire was put out eventually however the bus was beyond repair and almost 70% of the vehicle was completely burnt.
It is believed the vehicle will go for scrap as there a few salvageable parts, although the bus itself is beyond being repaired.
