Hey everyone, Eezore here, and in this video I break down some Pros and Cons about the Tree tab in the game Farm Together.
Now this isn't an all inclusive list, as I don't have the DLC and there are some trees there that could change things, but this is a good starter kit to know what to expect from the Tree Tab.
The biggest positive thing about trees is this: They are a one and done purchase for making money. Meaning you only buy them once and they will be harvestable when their season is up. meaning if you buy 50 Apple trees at the start of the game, you'll be harvesting them every 17 minutes until you stop playing. This is the best way to get continues money, and can really help with upkeep of animals or purchasing crops.
Next Pro: Trees are the best way to get ribbons early on. Quests can be a little difficult to complete early on when money is an issue. Once your able to get the Fruit Press, you can turn 50 fruit into 1 Jam. Once you get the Jam stall, you turn 10 Jam into 1 Ribbon. Meaning if you can harvest 500 fruit every season, you get 1 Ribbon every 17 minutes! Early on this can be awesome to get some much needed ribbons.
Last Pro: You can get one of the best gem generators in the game with trees. Both Rubber Trees and Cinnamon are in my opinion the best way to get gems in the game. Rubber is available every Spring and Fall, and gives quite a few gems every harvest. Cinnamon is bit trickier to get, as it takes 5 Ribbons per tree, but is harvestable every season for gems. This is great to combo with a Farm Hand for massive Gems every season!
Alright, so that's most of the great things about them. There are two big Negatives though, and they can affect your end game more than anything.
The biggest con to trees is this: You need to harvest them. I know it's obvious, but when you have 108 of each tree it can take most of your season just to harvest them. It's really annoying, but ultimately if you just decide what you need and harvest them it's fine. Meaning if you need gems, to only harvest them, or money just set an amount and harvest those. I only do gems, and anything over 300 gold as I can usually make more than that doing other things.
The other big con is this: They never really make you massive money. You can get 100k easy from animals, and most flowers, but trees only get a few gold every level, and never really have that massive gold income. They help sustain your farm, but if your looking for money, there are better options.
I do have two things to add that are neither pros nor cons. If you consistently get help from other players I would recommend having a surplus of trees as they are nice for people to hop in, harvest, then leave. And if your looking to build your bonus, then there isn't anything better to grab.
The last thing to add is this: farm hands can really help out your tree gathering. There is a few options you can do, all automated or just a few. If your going for a few, then just do what you need. If your looking for gold and fruit, then tamarind is your best bet. Gems, Either Rubber Tree or Cinnamon. Honestly I go this route just to help with getting that 500 fruit a season. The other one is to do a set number in each farmhand. If you did 42 of each tree, you can do 4 per farmhand. The issue is that you use up all your farmhands this way, but you never need to worry about trees. Your call.
And that's about it! I think trees are the best resource for gems and ribbons, and are great if your an active player as it gives you something to do while waiting for other things to finish growing. Let me know what you think of trees, and if there is anything I missed, in the comments below.
Oh yea, one last thing. Best trees are as such:
Tamarind for gold/fruit. Put a farmhand or two on just harvesting this one
Rubber tree for gems. I get 8 gems per tree every spring and fall.
Cinnamon for gems. This one takes a bit with the 5 ribbon cost, but is well worth it once you get a few of them as they give gems every season.
