Be careful with alfalfa, it’s pure protein and could cause colic especially with the horses. Nice treat though once in awhile. .

Just watch the cows with alfalfa, it is ok as long as they don’t eat too much at a time or too frequently. It can cause them to bloat. Those babies were so excited for this treat! This gave me a good morning chuckle 😁

ImaJean is such a treasure! Her precious story always makes me cry. Between green alfalfa and oatmeal the ISS babies are indeed pampered and rightly so. Morrow Hill is definitely THE place to be for 4-legged and feathered creatures! Truly heaven on earth!

I generally joke around with my comments, but I’m going to get serious here…I appreciate what you do. Rescuing is such an important, loving action. Every animal I’ve had/have is a rescue. I believe a special karma exists for those who help animals in need. If you can provide genuine love along with assistance, you’re golden. Thank you for rescuing AND loving animals. I think I heard Rick say he gives his horses alfalfa once a day. So I'm sure it's the same for all hay eating animals. The clip of Ima Jean had tears coming down my face.

In California alfalfa is the main hay for horses along with Bermuda and some grass hays for grazing.

Alfalfa is good for pregnant females but can cause urinary calculi in males that are both not intact or intact. My goats are the exact same!!! They go crazy!!!

This made me smile for so many reasons. Annie and Ernie running in to eat the green hay at the same time as the littles. Everyone so excited to have something new and scrumptious. The video of Lester coming home to his survivors. Paty Pig, Ima Jean and Meg. I never tire of seeing that although it's hard to watch as I cry for those who didn't make it. Who is the dark donkey? So cute how their ears go up when they're happy. I received my Ima Survivor shirt on Friday. Can't wait to wear it. So special.

I have sat and watch that video over and over and over and cried and cried and cried I love Ima survivor sanctuary I wish I was able to visit all of the babies especially Carl and Ivy . But I’ll tell you that Jamie has been a rock for me she has been through the same stuff that I’ve been through there’s days where I think I can’t get past it but then I said no watch Jamie‘s videos and I’m like you got this if Jamie can do it you can do it and Jamie I wanna thank you very much for being there for all of us and for giving me the confidence to be able to wear a dress for the very first time in my life. As for Lester I love you too you’re like a brother to me I love how you just rattle on and on thank you for making your videos too. And as for Jake Jake is hilarious but I’ll tell you that he’s got a sweetheart on him and what I mean by that is that he’s willing to do anything for anyone and that is an awesome trait to have.💖❤️💖💖

I just can't watch the story of Ima Jean without getting teary eyed. She's definitely come a long way and survived that ordeal. Another animal in her situation would've succumbed. She's truly an example of what it takes to survive. Hugs and blessings to her! ❤🙏🐴

I live in an area where millions of acres of alfalfa is grown. A hundred years ago, I fed it to my horses. So fun to see your babies enjoying it, it made me laugh, and laughter is a hard thing for me lately. Thank you for sharing!

Awesome video. Loved all the babies reaction to the alfalfa and the snippet of Ima Jean was so sweet. I see a few people commented that Lester's title was click bait, however in my opinion I don't believe so. I beleive he is referring to the alfalfa as LocoWeed because the babies literally were going loco/crazy over it.

I agree. I have very different animals to be sure than those on the farm but there are certain treats I give them that I would swear is like crack to them. I mean no harm by referring to it as crack, I'm not trying to make light of any drug situation, but they truly act like its euphoric to them! And it's one of my favorite things about keeping my type of animal, seeing them truly enjoy something I gave them and being blissfully happy about it!!

What a great video. Everyone, including Annie and Ernie love the alfalfa. Every time I see the videos of when you found Ima Jean, Peggy and Meg, I tear up. That had to be a happy spot among the ruin and sadness surrounding you. I am so thankful you didn’t give up but made your farm into a sanctuary for special animals.

We feed alfalfa hay to our horses only during the winter and only in small doses, 2 or 3 times a week. We break up the flakes to make it easier to sort through some of the tougher stalks. They will pick through the Bermuda hay until they eat all the alfalfa then eat Bermuda. Like kids eating dessert first 😋 We do add a little of the alfalfa pellets to feed during the summer tho just for a little added energy source. Thank y'all for all the videos. It's soft and sweet. High in Ca. Can cause stones in ANY goat along with grains. We feed alfalfa soaked cubes to increase protein and water intake in the winter and during the summer based on hay analysis and blood work as well as type and amount of work horses are in. Fat doesn't equal healthy. Every vet we use says lean is far better than fat. We feed the cubes to out horses.

Omg your working girls are stunning gorgeous. They walk down the path from the back pasture like a group of models walking the cat aisle. Striking healthy girls Lester. Tex and Santana make beautiful girls. Ima and the girls are beautiful too. Their face has so much to tell. It's the eyes that get to me. Lester and Jami your doing an amazing job! Your work invested in the farm the animals shows 100 percent how much their loved. All the animals look great happy secure and for all to be so healthy is fantastic. 🥰❤🤠

Lester I was late watching this, but when I watched it I loved it so much I just watched it again.i love seeing all the babies so content and happy all at once during feeding time. WOW!!!! I know animals love Alfalfa hay. We use to feed it once I awhile. It is a special treat. They all were mesmerised by the taste. Peggy Pig tickled me laying down on hers and eating as she goes. I still cry at the Ima reunion after Harvey. Paty Pig then Meg Then Ima Jean. Tear jerker. AgIn bless you Lester.

I love these babies so much. Ima Jean has sure been through it. I just wonder how did her and Patty survive that high running water when Patty was so short and Ima Jean couldn't even stand up. I'm thankful that you turned that catastrophe into a beautiful Sanctuary Lester & Jami. And it brought the 2 of you together. It's amazing and keeps me in Awe what God can do. You're right when you say that the easiest way to make God laugh is to tell him our plans. I'm sure None of what happened was in yours. Love yall 🙋❤🙏

Alfalfa hay brings back so many memories for me. My Grandad was a farmer in Idaho and he grew alfalfa and baked it for his cattle in the winter. So happy your babies loved it. Love Oma Jean ❤️❤️

When I first got into horses it was at a rent stable were you would rent the horses for an hour. I rescued one who was almost dead, my first horse, but it’s funny because I watched your videos now for at least a year and I always wondered why you never fed alfalfa because that’s all they fed at that rent stable. They grow it massively in California in the valley so I guess it’s easy to get and cheap here or it was cheap here. At any rate I was riding my horse, bareback thank God, and he passed out underneath me wow that was something the vet did bloodwork and said his protein was too high and I needed to take him off of alfalfa hay I don’t know if it was because he was old or because since he had been starved almost to death he just ate too much but it is full of energy I’m glad your Biggs and Littles got to try it its fun to watch❤️

Lester I cry every time I watch the videos/clips of the animals after Harvey. It is heartbreaking the devastation it caused. But those tears are also mixed with tears of joy as well. I am a believer God has a plan and everything happens for a reason. You have made a beautiful sanctuary out of your home and you share it with the love for the animals and with the rest of the world! You, Jamie, Jake, and L.E. have all given myself and many others laughter and smiles even in our own bad times. “We are all Survivors of something!” Thank you!!

I love all your animals they make me.laugh so hard some times I get a belly ache fr laughing and how Lester animates the story's as the animals are talking

Just brings tears to my eyes seeing that flood all over and the babies that survived it. Especially Ima Gean with her broken foot. Poor baby. We love all of you💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

I rewatched it. Loved how Annie was eating. Normally you don’t see her eat much. Love how Carl gave Jami an alfalfa shower. Love seeing Sissy. Love how Tex found it and routered it. Peggy guarding her stuff.
