I agree. We used to have a hardware store store kind of like that. They had everything, if they didn't have it they ordered it for you, if they were out of it they called you when they got their shipment in. If you needed something, you asked where it was they'd tell you exactly where it was, what isle, what shelf, how far down the isle. These little locally owned and operated stores are the best.

We still are... just get away from the cities. They are the foul toilets of "progressivism" that are destroying us. I live in rural PA and there are stores like this here, especially around the Amish communities.
@metaparcel

@@56squadron I live in Los Angeles and I find country living amazing and beautiful but I never think they are regressive toilets of backwards thinking. Maybe you should be a bit more open minded about the kinds of people that live here. A bit of humility for yourself and a bit of understanding of your fellow citizen, no matter where they live, would do you lots of good. Arrogance isn't a trait people like regardless of whether you live in the suburbs or a rural town. If there is anything destroying us its people who believe their shit don't stink.

I love this episode. As I child in the early 60's, my more and I used to shop at Farmer's Mercantile quite often. What JoJo said is what my mom always said, "if you can't find it anywhere else, go to Farmer's Mercantile. If they don't have it, then you don't need it!" It's 2020 and that was 55+ years ago. I felt a little bit younger knowing that the store is still there and that the family still owns it. We have so little historic continuity in the world, today. Thank you TCR.

I am always happy when I listen to watch this programI'm not saying that difficulties around the world or something's happening but I think it's too much sadness to do we forget the good things that happen and the small things that are so wonderful we are too fix stated in the sad terrible all the time and I think we have to find time for the wonderful things in life.
