Her “friend” must be a good one. Filling her truck up before the poor thing gets back from Europe 😂

while you are on that battery cable put a ground disconnect on the negative side. put the switch down on the left side just above the wheel so you can cut it off while standing beside the machine.

IIRC it was about 40 grand to refresh a 1989/1990 model 9600 rice 15 years ago. Reflighting, redecking, bearings that needed attention, then sold it LOL. A lot of that is labor too.

One fall in the 1980’s a hurricane came up from the Gulf of Mexico and turned into a tropical storm after hitting land. It continued north until it stopped right over Minnesota and stayed here for about a week. A hurricane is a surface low so this happened as other storms systems continued their west to east path and their low pressure systems are centered higher in the atmosphere.

The secondary countershaft belt is not bad to change. Pull the pin on cylinder drive. Then you can roll it under the variable speed belt after you remove the hydraulic line and spread the pulley open. You lose very little oil. Learned that trick from a Deere mechanic.

That's good info - thx!

price out bew walkers because if the arm breaks it will destroy the walkers

That shaft will break, I have witnessed it many times. Change it now or risk replacing not only the shaft but all the walkers.. Being cheap does not always pay....

Yeah - I am still searching for one in stock somewhere

I might have a new one in box. I can look@@FarmerMD

You could almost babbitt pour those blocks to match the shaft. Probably would need to do it in place.

You might talk to your local machine shop, they might be able to build it up and then turn it back down to size, might be cheaper and faster than getting one from Deere. Also, that screw in the farmer's daughters tire looks like it was from your local hardware store. You might want to have a talk with that guy.

I know this seems lazy but if you ever get a Milwaukee m18 inflator you won’t regret it for tire size inflation. Setting the pressure with automatic shutoff is great. Great for road trips also.

Soak your hammer handle in a bucket of water to make wood fibers swell up.

The new American way. You’re lucky to get half of what you need and have to wait who knows how long to get the other half. Let’s go Brandon!!!!!!

You said it - Brandon is the guy!

How much money have you spent your older combine since you bought it vs. buying you a new one million dollar combine??

I purchased the machine used in 1998 for $68,000 with 927 separator hours. In the 25 years I have owned it, I have spent about $43,000 in repairs AND maintenance, fuel not included. I have received $42,000 in custom harvest income over the years of owning the machine. Today there is 3364 separator hours on it and it may be worth about $20,000? So I think I am still ahead of the game at a net cost of approximately $21 per separator hour. How much is the net cost per hour on a new JD x9??

you should get some tireject way better than putting a plug in
