INSIDE THE BELLY OF THE BEAST!!! REPAIRING THE SHAKER SHOE IN THE COMBINE HARVESTER

In today’s video we are repairing the combine after it’s last outing where part of the shaker shoe broke and fell down into the augers and jammed up the combine. To repair we have to completely gut the inside of the combine and I have to crawl inside the belly of the beast to open up bolts. We have to fabricate a new piece to fix the shaker shoe, and it take a team of 4 to get everything lifted back on. We finish off the video going out to cut the last of the winter barley. Hope you enjoy, any questions hit me down in the comments below, thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe for more. Videos every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

I'd go as far as to say this is your best vid yet, Phil. Mightn't get the views of the sexy silage vids, but that was very interesting and well filmed. Father Phil is some operator and your vids give a great insight into the real life of a contractor.

I was down in the belly of the beast myself onetime Phil, damn near under the concave. It was in Australia over twenty years ago, working for a harvesting crew. We had to have the combines spotless for crossing the border from Queensland to New South Wales to prevent the spread of weeds. I was sent in to my combine to Hoover out the insides in mid thirty degree heat and I can tell you, I made sure the key was in my pocket going in. Nothing like having complete faith in your colleagues!!

Nice one Phil, that was some feat of engineering I have to say, well done to all at team Phil. Father Phil is a born leader, nothing is a problem. When I saw all the insides of the combine out on the ground, I promised myself I would do something if that combine ever cut corn again. If you can excuse me now, I must be off to eat my cap.

It’s always handy to have a socket set especially if you have a combine or a harvester because they sit in a shed for most of the year so they are prone to breakdowns and anything with conveyor belts to

I was grain carting behind two of these M-F 38's] in 1994. When one of them went past me I could see & hear it wasn't right so I signalled to the driver to stop. Fortunately it was just in time as the sieve pan was in the process of detaching itself at the rear and it didn't take to long in the morning to repair things.

Nice one Phil, very interesting video. Not sure if it'd have given access to the right parts for ye or even if it'd work on a massey but I know a man with a deutz who cut an inspection hatch in the belly plate of his combine so he could get up into the middle of things from underneath if needs be, was very handy for feeder system & back of elevators etcI remember hearing.
