Good morning Taylor . Thanks for taking us along on your family fun day. It’s fun going down but I bet it’s a long way back up. Farmers need to have fun too. Does your niece like farm animals? There is a gas additive called Sea Foam that you could add to the gas tank of your bale unroller which would help your carburetor run a little smoother. Another great video. Love your beautiful smile so keep smiling, keep farming, and stay warm. 🚜🐄🌞😉

Very cool Taylor--I guess quite literally "cool." What a great video! I was disappointed you only showed 2 slides! That was fun and I didn't have to trudge back up the hill!! You seem to look a lot like your Mom even though she wasn't on camera very long. It was nice seeing the unroller putting out "material" 🌾and the gutter cleaner taking "material" away. 💩 Sort of poetic don't ya think? 🤠👍⛄

😂 “cool” in two ways! It’s definitely more fun going down than up🥵. Everyone says I’m the spitting image of her😅. I never thought about it that way but it is very poetic and Kona of ironic really. We work so hard to get the feed to the cows and then work just as hard to carry it away! Thanks so much for watching and have a wonderful evening!

I love your videos Taylor. I was a herdsman on a dairy farm for many years, but when we had our three kids I just couldn’t make ends meet; so I left it and taught high school chemistry for 18 years. My wife of 49 years just passed away last June, and your videos take me back to the wonderful years we had on the farm. Your videos are fantastic! Keep up the great work!

Those old barns never had insulation in the walls- hay was always stacked against the wall to insulate the barn and of course hay above you in the loft was insulation as well. Feeding rounds, you don’t have that to insulate the walls. It could be -40 outside, it would be 50 degrees in the barn. I never milked in anything but a light sweatshirt

I almost spit my coffee out when you said the sliding hill was so steep it "gets kind of hairy" LOL.. I haven't heard that saying in ages! If you want to keep the hay from wrapping around the wheel hubs on the hay bale roller, take 2 plastic buckets a little smaller than the tire height and cut them down to the size of the distance between the tires and the sides of the machine. Then cut a hole in the middle on the bottom of the buckets a little larger than the hub. Slide the bucket sideways and over the hub and bolt/screw the bottom of the buckets to the side of the machine. Make sure you cut the buckets short enough to leave 1/4" or so clearance so the buckets don't rub against the tire wearing a hole in them.If you want to close that gap, you can always wrap a bicycle tube around the outside and screw them to the bucket. and have them rub the tires. They are soft enough not to do damage to the tires. Love your videos!

😁 it’s one of my favorite expressions😅. That’s a great idea for keeping hay off of the tires! Thanks for the tips! I’m glad enjoy watching 😃

Interesting video Taylor, wish you could add the smell of hay to your video's?! How about adding, welding or bolting a a half moon wheel guard over the bale machine to deflect hay from the axle? Maybe a split 5 gallon bucket or a 25 gallon barrel? Enjoy the Maine "yankee Pudd'in! Thanks for posting!

Taylor, our baleage here on our Western Pennsylvania beef farm looks about like what you're showing. When making it I like to have the top of my windrow or swath dry about like it was going to be dry build and underneath that green and we find it if we make it that way it doesn't freeze it cures dry enough you can get the net and the plastic off of it and it's easy to hand feed if we are feeding in the barn. We use a three-point mounted slicer on the back of one of the tractor to slice them from the end will slice them about four times then we can fork whatever we're feeding inside wherever we want it. Outside we just uncover them and dump them in the ring and let the cattle take it from there.

That's a pretty good sledding hill. Back in my day before plastic sleds we'd use old runner sleds. They were steerable but sometimes that didn't help for conrol. Having steep hillsides in the field made roads something one didn't have to worry about roads or obstructions unless there was a barbed wire fence close to the end of the run. Good to enjoy that simple fun while it lasts. Never had enough snow for me as a kid to get enough days in for sledding.

When I was on the farm, we lived on top of a hill. We used to go sledding down our rod to the bottom and trek back up to do it again. Lots of fun was to be had during the snowy season. But we had to get our chores do e first before we went sledding. Sure was a lot of fun. Miss it a bunch. Have fun and stay safe. God Bless.
