Farmer's POV

Ай бұрын

We still have a couple of 1st cut fields to harvest but we don't get enough sunny days to dry the hay.
We got one fairly clear day so we decided to cut a field of seeded grass to top up our summer silo. Just as we were finishing a rain shower hit us again but we finished on time.
Thanks for watching!

Farmer's POV (Point of View) is a channel where I share videos of different chores that are going on on our small family farm in Slovenia. We have 60 heads of cattle, mainly simmetal breed and we milk about 35 of them. We farm in a fairly hilly area so our equipment is relatively small. Currently we own 4 tractors: Fiat DT55-56, New Holland TN70DA, Deutz Fahr Agroplus 85 and John Deere 5085M. We work around 20 hectares of mainly grass fields and about 2,5 hectares for silage corn. We also have 7 hectares of forest.

Thank you 🙂 there is a wall on one end of the silo and if I put the roller on the back of the JD I can't compact all the way to the wall until its full enough. In this instance I could use the JD but the roller was already on the Fiat. I would need front hydraulic on JD.
@jorisnabuurs5150
@jorisnabuurs5150 28 күн бұрын
@@farmerspov4709 Aha, you want to back up to the wall for maximum compaction. That would be possible if you mounted the roller in front of the tractor. But since you don’t have front linkage/hydraulics and do have the 4th tractor this is the way to go at the moment. I get that; makes sense.

@@farmerspov4709 in the south, west and east they start around this time of year depending on weather which is very wet at the moment. In the north and the Westfjords region they start in mid to late june. Edit: a perfect example just happened, in parts of the north-east they are expecting snow next week and here in the south temperatures are expected to be between 1°C to 10°C over next week.
