Silage time can be stressful especially when tractors park up when John McClean is in the mood for the craic but can our Farmer keep his cool as the 2205 harvester which is starting to show signs of meltdown after a big shift earlier in the day. On the pit Alan is doing trojan work with the Merlo running a set of slicks - no one really understands how he's getting the grass up the clamp until a closer inspection at the end of the day reveals the special technique involved!
This is the second half of the big grass day on Alan Clyde's farm and he has the FarmFLiX team in to give him a hand. Willis & Jonnie keeping the pedal flat to the mat in between breakdowns.

Alan is definitely the best shovel man I have seen a marlo with a bad lift pump stales and no grip on the tyres and he could do that... Fair play till him love these videos.

Im in same boat as you Alan do our own silage with old machines have a old mengele self propelled, at end of day gets the job done and saves lot of money rather then paying contractors.

@@farmflix we are the same normally but for the past few years we have been at silage for a friend ~600 bales all drawn in with double handlers and single on the front for 2 out of the 3 tractors drawing as the roads are too tight for any trailer bigger than a 12 ft and by the time we would have them all drawn in our own silage would be like rope for our little JF fct 900 hopefully we can get our ford 7810 on her roaring away this year🤞

that hew hollland harvester was a bargain and its all mechanical for something used one a year runs sweet just have to keep it maintained probabley outlast most modern stuff just clean out the old grease and sirt keep it oiled and greased
