I see you trying to throw shade. 🛑 You all sound poorly informed. Black people are a MINORITY group in the US. That in itself was intentional on the part of the US government. There are likely to be more white people in any group in the US because there is a much higher percentage of white people in the US. I’m pretty sure the VAST majority of people who came through Ellis Island were white.

The funniest thing about when I read the title of this is that for those of us that grew up in this state and an agricultural environments a 150 had dairy farm struggling everyday just to get your chores done because if you didn't get your chores done God forbid something with lack and then inevitably the family would suffer I don't remember seeing very many black folk or any folk that wanted anything other than a quick buck in their pocket coming up here. They most certainly weren't up here looking for in Agra cultural job, in fact if I remember right there were a bunch of take Vermont back signs on people's Lawns because the same-sex marriages were finally coming up to speed and getting with the rights and that they should have had from the get-go and we had a large proportion of folks who were running away from problems in big cities in other states a sex offenses drug charges etc etc come into a rule Dairy State finding some person that would be dumb enough to allow them to ingratiate into their family that a lot of which are on Section 8 or some sort of help for disability they start selling whatever it is that their lifestyle encourage them to do up in a small area with a small town where everybody knows each other and they call that racism because they end up inevitably getting caught doing a lifestyle and a life that inevitably gets them hemmed up

@@Kenbidreddscott no more false than the deities of other spiritual systems including yours? Tell me why do you believe your worshiping of a Middle Eastern deity is the right one, but all those before yours and after yours was invented is the correct one? Oh and she is not worshiping the ancestors, she is asking for guidance and thanking them and giving them all praises due, to have suffered what they went through to make her possible.

@@Kenbidreddscott well there are others that would say the same thing about " God" of the Christian faith and Allah of the Muslim faith, yet people still do it, so what is the difference between her and others who practice this? Look i have no ax to grind with you or her, i personally think its all BS, something us humans do when we are unsure, it still does not make her reasoning any less valid than what those who practice the Abraham faiths. At least her reasoning is not to oppress others based on what she believes.

Ugh.......our social progress, history and culture would make it a burden more than anything.......I'm not African my last 5 generations of fighting forefathers fought for this land now called America. All and all it's just too far gone. We can't even make ships in America, how are we going to trade and eventually go back to Africa? They don't even like us from what I have observed in the U.S.A.

@@dirtymikentheboys5817 so you can tell what 1 billion people think by just a few, gee you must be special. Our social history and burden is just as valid as their social history and burden it just came in different forms. and the reason we need unity is for the exact reason you name, we must start to think globally like all immigrants. my family has fought in every war this country has had from the civil war until now, and it still did not save them or us from getting short. no one is saying you need to leave the USA or at least i am not, but we all must remember there is strength in numbers.

I like Ms Pennimans African historical perspective on growing food, caring for the earth, and community. Love it!! But, her comments that Permaculture does not exist is off point. I'm a Black (ADOS) Permacultre farmer and use the principles laid out by Mollison and Holmgren in my work and personal life. They put a name to a relationship with plants and habitat that certainly existed before their research. I believe Mollison gives plenty of credit to indigenous land stewards when he coined the term Permaculture and in his teaching. The ethics and principles encompass more than just farming or gardening. As to profit, I personally don't know a Permacuture practitioner in the top 50% of income earners. That being said, I have my own problems with the Permaculture community itself. And I do appreciate the work of Soul Fire Farm and Ms Penniman's mentoring of young farmers.

Since when do the corn plants and chickens care what color your skin is? Or is it that you only buy dark colored animals? Since when does skin color change farming techniques? Or maybe you just refuse to sell to anyone whose skin is too pale.
