The map is dry arabia and showcases a really interesting strategy from the english that really changes the civilisation matchup.

Hey there, I play mostly FFA nomad ATM but with 1v1 currently sitting at conquer 1 with English. Was conqueror 1 last season also 👍. Admittedly I don't play all that much for 1v1s ATM mostly casting 😁

Why did WAM go for crossbows vs all light infantry/ranged units with his knights? Wouldn’t archers have been a much better counter ? Marine lord didn’t have any heavy units (first big fight)

I think as Byzantine in this matchup you have to try to secure trade early so that you have gold in the late game

Maybe I'm so noob, but i didn't understand which was the 'new' genius strategy. PDA: Yes I'm noob but trying to improve

So the strategy which is different than usual for the English: Heavy cavalry focus opening forcing enemy into limitanei and then switch from cavalry focus to man at arms focus (which is great late game for english as they have farms giving both food and gold safelty). The counter to man at arms from enemy would usually be crossbows mostly but its hard for them as gold becomes hard to get in the late game for enemies as they have to mine it from the map and by that time in the game, the only gold in the map is usually in the middle) - the English on the otherhand have decent gold income from farms with enclosures upgrade from the mill.

ngl if he went laminate earlier he could have won and that 50 longbowman kill against 20 knights was the breaking point for english ,hes a pro and I'm atmost diamond level but even I wouldn't do that mistake
