Dont get me wrong, ive been following Mac for like forever, and i love him. But on some occassions his reviews are wayyy too personal and short sighted. Elden Ring being his biggest fail recently to my knowledge. He wrote it off because it wasnt ported well enough (xbox buttons on pc instead of ps) and due to bad performance which was only really noticable in the first section of the game.

@@parasoldat66 LOL what a load of lies. I literally could not play the game, go rewatch it and I said am going to review it when it's fixed but on release for myself and loads of other PC users you could not alter the mouse sensitivity, controllers did not work at all. You mention none of this, just the fact the control bindings were wrong, very poor comment indeed.

@@WorthABuyreviews Mac I prefer keyboard over mouse any day of the week but some games are simply ment to play with a controller and Elden Ring is one of those games. Now im not saying the game desereves a 10 or is without flaws cause it wasnt certainly not. But it was easily playable especially after the first part. I dont have a beast pc but it ran just fine with the occasional frame drop, and the controller was litrally plug and play. Elden Ring had been the first game in yearssss that had me craving it while not playing, and for you to just do it away like that didnt feel right. Im glad your willing to give it another go tho also since its totally not your type of game anyway. Still love you tho mac dont be mad at me xxx

This game is developed by Crate Entertainment, the creators of the ARPG Grim Dawn. They support their games very, very well and they interact directly with their community. There is no middle man/community manager. So, if you are hesitant because it is in early access and you think it could be abandoned prematurely, you don't have to be. This game is already in a very good state and I can assure you that Crate will develop and enrich this game with new features for a long time to come. Their previous game Grim Dawn was released in 2016 and they still support it with balance patches to this date. Crate is great.

With how GrimDawn started in EA - it wasn't bad or anything , just compared to full release it improved x20 - so this game might really be one of the best city builders once it's released. And although city builders ain't my cup of tea - it's gr8 to see crate has talent not only in ARPG field - but still finger's crossed that after Frontier we will get GrimDawn 2 .

I honestly nearly had a stroke from laughing so much at those videos. Nitrogen: Legumes like beans capture nitrogen from the air and put it into the soil. Other crops use nitrogen from the soil. Crop rotation revolutionised farming. Before that You has to leave the field fallow for a year or two. All this can be avoided with fertilizer, however fertilizer is expensive so even today its only used on higher value crops of very productive farm land. So, end todays lesson :)
@christianzilla

Well done posting that. People need to know. Without crop rotation, agribusiness just treats the soil like a sponge for chemicals and it is destroying topsoil the world over. Some estimate there is only 40 years worth of topsoil left if our methods go unchecked.

I purchased this as soon as I possibly could. I've spent enough time playing Grim Dawn to know Crate's work ethic, and how much they put into their games. I wouldn't be remotely surprised if this game sees a handful of dlc, and several hundred patches over its lifetime. Grim dawn still sees humongous balance patches, and patches that add more mechanics.

And it hopefully it will be a long-lived classic. I know it is too early to make a statement like that (still in early access and needs a little polish), but there is one point on my mind about this: this dev team are quite supportive of mods. I've played many, many more hours of Grim Dawn than I would have because I used mods. Out of the city builders, I still fire up Banished because of the mods that I use. Obviously, you need a solid base for mods, but I feel that it is mods that can add decades onto the life of a good game.

I expect a new bell soon, when you review the latest tripe, and i look forward to it. most importantly, keep up the gems whilst you do the bad ones, because iv spent a while wanting a new game to stick my teeth in, and you found me one when i watched this video. and finally take care of yourself, and know you are the best in your field!!!

The UI indeed needs a bit of QOL improvements. For example i spent a long 10 min trying to find which building made barrels; i had to check the online wiki for it. Likewise, there is no in game help or guide you can access from your game, or it's well hidden and i haven't found it. The "tutorials" don't seem to fire either, would have been nice to have one about the farms the first time you build one.

Surprised you didnt even mention the performance being quite meh. It stutters when you open anything and scroll through inventory for example.

@@WorthABuyreviews It's clearly not, in the footage. When you talk about the traders and you're scrolling, its lagging like crazy. When you open menus there's a micro stutter.

@@Plague_Doc22 I can see why he missed that, it was happening while he was showing that menu and the people started that. Something similar happens in cities skylines when the pop gets too big and your cpu has a had time processing traffic.

There should be a custom difficulty like in some city builder/survival/management games so you can, for example, have food spoilage and fireman stupidity on a slider or 1-10 kinda thingy.

The pressing questions n being.... Is this a step forward or a step back in relation to the Anno series? I don't fancy buying something that has nothing to offer that I haven't seen before.

Ok, so the best game ever and a city builder is Pharaoh. It introduced "desirability" to me and that word was a fun challenge among others to understand as a kid. This game has desirability. Reminded me of that legend. I guess it's time to buy this game.
