You know something that remains true regarding Marilyn in those days and I see it even now. Just because you’re pretty and own your sexuality isn’t a free pass for men to take advantage of. The fact that she married as a minor, then married to be physically abused, and then married a third time to be abused again is awful. You mean to tell me she couldn’t be loved unconditionally and the right way. It’s so sad. I will say I am glad Joe DiMaggio sought help for himself and later became a rock for her that she could really lean on but that JFK situation took her down. Her and Joe finally found the solid foundation they needed to be together towards the ending of her life and I believe they were going to get remarried. I bet if she had that chance to rebuild with the more mature him she’d still be here (in terms of having the chance to grow old). He was awful when they were first married but he really went out and did some soul searching and got serious help to be able to show up for her when she needed him
