Thanks for watching. The primer bulb finally broke on the Echo we fixed over 2 years ago and I'm wanting to too much time fixing it. Lets do it with the lease amount of disassembly as possible.

Gotta love the older Echo equipment 👍 so easy to work on. Personally I leave the fuel in them when changing the primer bulb. When replacing or rebuilding a carb I pour the fuel out.

Definitely simple design, less parts = easy repair. Older stuff is meant to last.

Just used your method and it worked like a charm. My ECHO had not been started in ages. Put some ethanol free gas in the tank, and it started right up! Thanks

Great video, thanks. I need to do the for an older Echo PE 230 edger right now. One question, would you insist on using Echo OEM replacement bulb or just get a cheap aftermarket?

if you have extra cash to spend on OEM parts go for it. As for me, I'm very frugal so I would go with the cheap carb. Out of the hundred or so carbs I've bought, I think only maybe one of them was faulty.

Well that was easy. Feels good to finally use one if the large primer bulbs from your bulk bag, doesn't it? Leave gas in there if it's non-ethanol. Dried fuel residue can gum up the carburetor and make starting and running difficult.

Easy is ideal. I've made some complicated repairs that aren't all that popular.

@@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE Well, you gauge your time as you like. However, when you get something that needs re-threading, welding, planing, shimming, drilling, lapping, epoxy, all kinds of gaskets and more, the end product may not be worth the effort.

I use ethanol free gasoline as well… makes our equipment last much longer.
