I'm a fan of guns, in general, so this is fantastic. 😎 But, seriously, the renaissance in US small business manufacturing is largely occurring around gun and car parts.

Sit somebody around your heights, in your listening chair. Purchase 2 identical narrow beam flash lights, needn’t spend more than $10 per unit. Sit those flashlights centrally on top of each speaker, flush with the front baffle. Then adjust each speaker until the focal point of the flashlight’s beam alines with the person’s appropriate ear.

Measuring won't guarantee best sound as no room I've ever seen/heard is perfectly acoustically symmetrical, all have different left/right reflections etc. First create the ideal listening triangle = listening position should be a bit further away than the speakers are apart, then with tiny movements incrementally move them around until they sound at their best. Ignore driving yourself mad measuring as it tells you nothing of how the speaker is actually performing in your listening room with all of its imperfect idiosyncrasies. When you get them to sound at their best then they're in the right position. I've been in and around the hifi industry for a long time. Generally people have their speakers too far apart to start with.
