2024 so far has been the year of bankruptcies, layoffs, and businesses closing down forever. The latest going down is the fast food chain, BurgerFi. They have two months until they have to potentially file for bankruptcy, because business is not good. Even though this economy is supposedly great.

A topic to cover soon to beat other YT creators to the punch is multiple Concert Tours being cancelled. Currently the media is making excuses-see GQ’s article “Artists are canceling arena tours right and left”. Then compare to the dramatic drop in ticket sales in 1990 that preceded a recession. Festivals and bands played to near empty arenas. And it wasn’t just changing music tastes

I think we will see the closure of cafes, restaurants and many SMEs speed up in Australia over the next few months, given the recent 3.75% basic wage increase announced by the Fair Work Commission a couple of days ago and the new Industrial Relations laws that come into effect August 26th, particularly for casual workers. All these decisions made in a vacuum will eventually create a domino effect that will explode the unemployment rate while we already have record immigration and sticky inflation. We have the longest recession per capita of 5 quarters in a row and according to the RBA it "isn't very relevant", yet consumers and households are being crushed and that's the metric they choose to ignore.

The United States manufacturing is in the toilet. We simply don't make much anymore. Late 1970s globalization artificially made US currency deflate because it was cheaper to buy goods from outsourced manufacturing in other countries. Now the US economy is mostly services, but energy, labor, and material input costs have all doubled. Customers can cut out the labor cost if they prepare their own food at home. The Fed may get inflation "under control," but if a lot of people are out of work and businesses have closed, is that really a good situation?

Are you forgetting the huge tax incentives US manufacturing was handed in a silver platter for closing US manufacturing plants and relocating overseas? The emissions hits they were taking and also sought to escape from? The employment laws they don't have to abide by. This was done to the citizens of this country by greedy politicians. It wasn't just cheaper to buy goods from overseas. Our government encouraged globalization by making it so expensive and unattractive to stay here, companies moved operations enmasse. Interesting how quickly folks forget, or simply don't know, what happened just a few decades ago.

As someone who shoots train videos, you get an idea of how well the economy is doing based on the amount of traffic going down the line. Most consumer freight these days is shipped in containers, from Asia and Europe, to all parts of the country. During the pandemic the amount of container traffic dropped off significantly. Trains that were normally long were mostly empty and those that had containers were often not double stacked, just single. The length of the trains also got progressively shorter. Some container trains didn't have a single container on them, just empty cars. The past few weeks I've been seeing a repeat of this, though not as bad as during the pandemic. Container trains are half empty or are shorter than usual. Still lots of auto racks though so new cars are still being shipped though I have no idea who's buying them. And I've been seeing lots of trains made up of nothing but empty boxcars, most likely going into storage somewhere, as the demand for them has decreased.

Im in the Uk , I used to buy off ali express , not big ticket items , same stuff you would see on amazon ,but 25%/50% cheaper even after import tax , just had to wait a month for delivery . It used to be reliable up until last year, Deliveries would fail and the supplier would disappear with no contact ( gone bust?) with tracking showing supplier dispatch on the chinese end , but then never reaching the shipper , eventually getting a refund 90 days later , but it was such a faff chasing it . 3 fails in a row and Ive deleted the app , just buy the same stuff ,but less of it from amazon . Anecdotally , I had a word with a small scale Welsh furniture importer ,and he was getting delivery fails from chinese imports , with pirates on the east coast of africa being blamed for the delay , I kid you not , but the real reason was that small chinese supply companies are going to the wall so quickly , it becomes difficult for the shipper to reserve space in containers in China and have them sent out in full for export to Europe , If they are not full it becomes uneconomic to send , pushing the shipping price up causing more cancellations . 60 day deliveries are now taking him 6 months.

Those will just be bleak as well. By then Boone will be buying anything. Either Black Friday will be dead or people will literally 💀 to get the super cheap stuffs. I don’t think anything will happen by then. With incoming banks collapsing n job losses heading into winter season. By then home invasions will be huge. I figured it for last year but this years gonna be a very red Christmas. 😢

I had a set of ex-tenants that bought into the hype not to pay rent. They were paying me $875 for a 3br 1 car garage. The house they bought they were told their payment would be $1350 per month. Well now I have seen them in Facebook chat sites complaining their payment has went up to almost $1700 per month due to insurance increases and due to their inability to realize when a home is sold at a higher price that the taxes adjust also, and there are things breaking down with the house as they purchased an older home. It's a matter of time before they lose that house and it's only been a little over 14 months.

I was just telling someone that renting a small place can be cheaper than buying & maintaining a property. Between the higher insurance, higher taxes, higher utilities, i.e., gas, electric, oil, & propane. Then add maintenance, repairs, renovations, assessments, etc. It's out of control.

I kind of interpret many post on here as acknowledging that we're reaching a market peak, in general, which is a well-supported thesis, and so if you've been sitting back chill while the gains roll in because bull market, well, time for traders to stay sharp, many are expecting volatility, probably a sharp downturn, smart traders should check their risk management is in shape, time to pay attention. The timing of his post vs what I know about the market supports that well enough. But yeah, the post could mean anything.....managed to grow a nest egg of around 100k to a decent 432k in the space of a few months... I'm amazed that KZfaqrs like this fellow rant and rave about the economy going south because spending habits have changed dramatically. They seem to ignore the possibility that millions of people may have just decided to be more grown-up and responsible with $. Business models built on that not happening are indeed in big trouble.

Everything (like eating out at any Fast Food) is TOO EXPENSIVE. We are NO LONGER EATING OUT. Not worth it. We are learning how to Copycat anything and cooking it at home. Thus, there is NO REASON to eat out anymore. We are not gonna spend $20+ / $25+ for a single meal at fast food places like Whataburger, etc. We're gonna stay home.

I just traveled from Dallas to New England, most of the farms I drove past were ranches full of bulls. Looks like the farming standard is beef. I remember when soy bean and corn was all the rage. Food prices do need to come down.

Great video. My only quibble is you think that the ruling class will rethink their policies to make it easier for companies to make money is not true. These ruling elites are comfortably insulated from the problems of the working class. And the truly poor are used as tools.

Oil companies are pumping out exporting more oil from the USA than ever before in history. More than when potty pants was in office. They are and have been making record profits gouging everyone that they can and it has nothing to do with who is in the White House.

@robdewdney3197 We may produce-for others. We were energy independent until Biden turned our domestic usage upside down. We buy our oil from the Middle East, Canada and South America, making those nations rich. We are not allowed to use our own and Biden rescinded hundreds of our oil leases. PAY ATTENTION!
