I'd like to see you break down songs, like Rick Beato does with what makes this song great, but from the drummers perspective. He's a guitarist, primarily, so it's different POV.

Nate Smith likes to sneak an open hi hat stomp in between beats every now and then too. It's a great trick to take some pressure off your right hand and also let's you reset yourself in the groove. Great lesson ... thanks, Rob!

Hey Rob, just wanted to thank you for your clear, direct and upbeat teaching style. I agree with some other comments that the slow motion video and the side angle really helped demonstrate the mechanics being used. This technique has been a game changer for me, and is improving other areas of playing including hand speed, a heightened sense of the nuances in my grip, and other things like the 4-stroke ruff.... There's so much bleed over in everything we practice in drumming, it's really empowering. So, again...THANK YOU!!!

Hi Rob: This is such a great lesson. I love the fact you stress to practice without injury. I am an older guy and blew out my left wrist a year ago trying to hard to build up. I always heard "no pain, no gain!". Not so with wrists!!!! Thanks so much for this video and your commitment to helping others with their goals.

Hi. For building finger rebound, I find it helps to try to do it on a non-reactive surface. A pillow, or rolled up coat, something that isn't going to do the work for you. Therefore any bounce produced, is by the fingers alone. Helps to build the muscles in the two secondary fingers, as these are naturally weaker than the other two and thumb.
