And now for the finale for the Kent videos, an eastwardly Enviro400 topped to a terrific thrashy Trident. Let's dive right in to former Mancunian 19048.
19048, like the previous Trident video, was the third of a batch of the 50-strong MX56-plate Euro 3 Enviro400s delivered new to Stagecoach Manchester's Stockport garage for any combination of city work. 2014 saw several MX56s head to Kent, though 19048 first went to Eastbourne before heading to Thanet (Westwood Cross) around 2022
Our Enviro400 heads eastwardly on East Kent's Route 43 which runs from Canterbury Bus Station to Sandwich, Discovery Park via St Martin's Hospital, Littlebourne, Bramling, Shatterling, Wingham, Ash, Stone Cross & Sandwich. The route was formed as part of a revision of Kent routes, serving as the northern section of withdrawn route 14, which ran from Canterbury to Deal, Balfour Road via Sandwich. My aim was to get one of the last vestiges of the GX54 ALX400s, but alas could not get my timing's right, and they since have relocated now to Hastings.
19048 is powered by a Euro 3 Cummins ISC8.3 coupled to a Voith D854.4 4-speed automatic gearbox, a Trident tone tantamount to many of many early uploads, and am fairly sure there is some kickdown and thrash action in this video. So I do hope you all like.
Start: Wingham Church
Finish: Sandwich, Guildhall
