I thought she only felt emotions she’s not telepathic which would be the ability to read minds. Once again they are doing way too much with Cecile empath powers to expand her role on the show. She needs to go back to being a meta defense lawyer that has empath powers to relate to her clients and maybe an occasional consult at STAR lab. As Joe’s role decreases on the show in S9 so should hers. There is no reason why Joes baby mama should be around so much when he isn’t.

I disagree. I saw the chemistry between them in the pilot episode from the moment Barry walks into Jitters after waking up from his coma and they stare at one another. The sign in the background literally spelled Iris.

She had empath powers which were to feel/sense emotions but now she can read minds and act as a medium. Gtfoh! It’s like they keep trying to expand her role. Go spend time with some clients and your baby. When Joe cuts back to a recurring I hope she does too. I liked her when she was on a few episodes as a kick ass DA. Now she is just plain annoying inserting herself all over the place as a regular. It’s just silly what they did with her character!

Most depictions of empathy (and some telepaths) are like they can see a color or person or object that was always there but that the rest of us could not see. When you are around a blind person, how easy would it be to stop seeing them or anything else? It would take effort. And if you just walked into a room, you’d see whatever was obvious in that room before you’d choose what to look at and what not to. That’s not necessarily due to any fault on your part but the bigger the object or emotion the harder it is to miss it…for those who can see it, anyway.

@@stevecandle4 That’s just a rumor so far that the ninth season will be the last. There hasn’t been sources with definite claiming that it will end on the ninth season. Sources that the CW is considering an abbreviated final season nine and people do suspect season nine might be the end, especially with Grant’s one year contract along with Jesse L. Martin leaving the show. But it’s not confirmed that it’s cancelled after season nine.

If I was Caitlin I wouldn’t even want to be his follow up GF/wife after Iris. She’d never measure up and only be a sad second best!
