Il Fast Cross del 2000 è stata l’ultima edizione della gara di motocross più prestigiosa all’aperto, nata da un’idea di Giorgio Saporiti.
Nella prima semifinale scatta Tortelli, poi Hughes scivola e il francese passeggia verso la vittoria. Nella seconda semifinale Langston mette in mostra tutta la sua grinta: scatta senza timori reverenziali davanti a sua maestro McGrath e nonostante i ripetuti tentativi di attacco dello statunitense mantiene il comando. Si arriva così alla finale Tortelli-Langston con il pubblico di Arsago che parteggia per il diciottenne della KTM, giunto a sorpresa in finale. Langston brucia in partenza anche Tortelli, che nelle prime curve rischia anche di cadere per attaccare il sudafricano, poi però
Langston sbaglia e Tortelli ha via libera per la vittoria.
The 2000 Fast Cross was the last edition of the most prestigious outdoor motocross race, born from an idea of Giorgio Saporiti.
In the first semifinal Tortelli takes off, then Hughes slips and the Frenchman walks towards victory. In the second semifinal Langston shows off all his grit: he takes off without awe in front of him, Maestro McGrath and despite the American's repeated attempts to attack, he maintains the lead. This brings us to the Tortelli-Langston final with the Arsago crowd cheering on the eighteen-year-old from KTM, who arrived by surprise in the final. Langston burns even Tortelli at the start, who also risks crashing in the first corners to attack the South African, but then Langston makes a mistake and Tortelli has the green light for the win.
