The "canon" speeds given by Pixar are rarely correct. For common vehicles, they are, like Sally, Doc, Mater, Finn McMissile, etc. But for the race cars, they have no clue what they're talking about (besides Storm and Cruz). They say McQueen can't beat Storm no matter what he does and he has a speed of 198 Mph compared to Storm's 214. But then they also say McQueen can beat Francesco while under the belief that McQueen's top speed is 200 Mph and Francesco's is 220. They can't make up their mind, so I calculated them myself. In the Piston Cup, they use restrictor plates which slow down the car. With these, McQueen's top speed is 212 Mph, but without, it's 246.
