I love my Chevy SS. I miss my C6 Corvette but the Chevy SS LS3 engine makes me smile every time I drive the car. The whole family can enjoy the 425 horsepower car 😂😂

this may be the fastest "chevy ss" but look up "vf commodore" (as (Holden vf commodore is the Australian build) and you'll be seeing some 9's no worries. want a more bad ass ss/commodore? look up the HSV vf (Holden Special Vehicles) and you'll be creaming your pants ;) The HSV comes with more power, more luxury/sports options and is down right savage

Wish that Holdens had been sold in Taiwan (where I live) in the past few decades. Although they made it to China and S. Korea with anemic motors and Singapore with insane prices... not here. Prefer the styling of some of the previous models but still love so many other things about this car (two favorite cars I have ever driven were a HSV Holden and a Lancia).

This is Holden Commodore which is built in Australia and then exported to USA, it's not built by Chevrolet.

When he says that everything in the motor is stock, he means the things that are a part of the motor itself with boost coming from outside of the motor. Unfortunately, I'm still in the 10s! LOL

yes. gm sent its r&d team here to build from scratch the international platform, meaning they could build a car on their CAD systems and without minimal tooling upgrades this could be built anywhere in the world. My personal experience with the r&d team was with my 67 camaro, this was designed on the pontiac gto, holden monaro platform. The camaro has a 69 front style, but the rear 1/4s and wheel arches are 67, my camaro was measured for confirmation of the scaled drawings, nothing major, i was in the right place with the car at the right time my 67 has gm rs rear 1/4s not aftermarket which they wanted accuracy. the draftsman wasa young australian man who reported directly to the usa, your camaro was designed in australia

did you get one? I'm from Mississippi and had to go to New Orleans (Bryan Chevrolet) to get mine. They had a few over here but they either were gray or had sunroofs. I got a blue one without hole in roof, with spare wheel, at a dealer that gives USAA deal. last I checked they had a white one with no hole and several more with the hole. They had a sweet looking red one in Abbeville (can't recall dealer) but it had a hole, too. Good luck.

Now it's September and i am looking into more. ended up getting eurocharged tune good for 540hp crank. in a month it's possible I will be bored with that.idk. btw sorry about this had some drinks can't really see the screen lol

I am not saying you shouldn't mod the hell out of it, and honestly even though the C63 has more HP from the factory I think you're going to spend a metric ton more making it faster than you would with an SS using an LS3. I mean granted if you live in Europe maybe it would be a different case, but there's no way you're going as fast if you decide to mod it in comparison.

this is true supercharger for the c63 is $12k supporting mods and labor that's like $15k-$17k that's ridiculous. Maybe ported heads and cams and exhaust your looking at 500rwhp but that's as far as I'm willing to go with the c63

And you can spend around 8k on the SS and have around 700 to the wheels and it still be very reliable. SS over the AMG all day man. Mercedes makes great cars. but for the money and the potential the SS wins hands down.

One fast Holden! We call them Dunnydore's in the land of AUS rhymes with Commodore, as you'd probably already know. It's a shame you don't get the HSV Clubsport R8.& Maloo Ute variance, 430kw!. There are quite a few varieties of the VF platform. They all come in wagon form here also. Cheers.

Great idea that's one of the VE/VF Ute's selling points fit a full size dirt bike & be able to shut the tailgate. Payload & towing aren't bad either will tow 2100 kg's

+Jell0ss vf is the body style designation over here they are the same engine and drive line supplied by chev and the body and chassis designed, engineered and built by the Australians. Look up a 2015 chev ss and a 2015 Holden commodore ss

+Drew513Ryder It doesn't matter what it's marketed as in America both are under a GM manufacturer with identical body styling, chassis and driveline difference being rhd to lhd. When it has been compared on a world scale you compare it to the actual world not just the world of America. Chassis and body have been in production since 06. America has had them since 08 in the pontiac g8 since then it has had some facelifts and increases in displacement but virtually the same car.

+Drew513Ryder It's impressive if this car is that quick with standard factory parts on it but the title doesn't stipulate that it says fastest in the world, meaning outright. Maybe a more accurate title would have been self proclaimed quickest and fastest standard bottom end etc because some guy telling you it has this or that doesn't always make it true. The only one i could think of off the top of my head was the C&A auto fashion turbo stroker motor vf from 2-3 years ago which i listed the time and speed above this is correct in saying that it is both quicker and faster regardless of mods. I prefer the late model ford 6cyl barra turbo engines so i don't keep as up to date with the commodore records as much anymore.

Yeah, sick!!! Nice Holden Commodore ;) That was funny seeing 2 Commodores race each other in the U.S, looked like a race you would see in Australia any given Friday night. Good shit!!! We have plenty of 9 second ones over here, some dudes have them running high 8's in street trim too. There are factory ones with dealership equipped blowers that make north of 700hp and still have full warranty... Only if you guys had the utes too, they look sick! It would have sold well as an Elco. It could have solved our manufacturing woes too- next year production ceases forever :( Capitalism, huh

Tell me how it isn't a Commodore- just because it wears a Chev badge, it was still designed and built here in Australia and is the same as what we drive over here. It's also the same car that dominated our Touring Car Championship (now V8 Supercars) for 25 years. It's a LHD Commodore to the 24 million of us over here mate. No matter what badge you put on it over there

+Chelsea Scarcella its called friendly Rivalry, different countries dont have different mods, sorry to correct you, we utilise the same ideas for our HP track, drift, drag cars as you do, so its not only Americans who can build fast cars, in fact at last year prior to drag week from memory it was an Australian in a Silver Ford Capri that beat Lutzs Black 57 . Australians develop high performance motors just as vigorously as our USA friends do. If you want to look at forced induction on the SBC then most research came from our 100 mile twin turbo race boats over 20 years ago, then twin turbos found their way into cars and truck for high performance. Gear driven side mounted superchargers are and still are hugely popular here in Australia, just like the states Chelsea.

It aint the fastest. Check fullboost on their vf commodore that has roughly 1100+ hp and can do 9's in ease.

Holden is still a GM owned. It's just a VF Commodore. In America it's a Chevy SS. That one there is a Chevy SS with Holden Badges on it.

+vincealinceable Usually a rod will go. you can do a ton of things before this happens but you have to run lower psi than this guy is doing but I have to admit, it's just so tempting to turn it up a couple more psi just to see if it can handle it... then the next thing you know you are overdoing it and then the inevitable happens. Very strong engine though. It's a little safer to build up one that comes from the factory with a supercharger or turbo because the bottom end is usually stronger.

+Hateif Youwant it's an SS with the bow ties removed and Holden badges added look at the seats when they show the inside notice it says SS on the headrest nothing about Holden, it's a lot easier to switch an SS over to full holden than it is a G8 that's why you see everyone with Holden badges that's all it takes to make it look exactly like the other one doesn't take a different hood or bumper like the G8 did, but if you don't believe that and still think it's a Holden why is it left hand drive
