Yes, but most the people who say that fail to realize that confidence in the bike is equally as important. I spent awhile on shitty bikes I couldn't trust or predict. Got a bike that isn't roached and instantly started getting better.

Well kinda in 1980 they made the kdx175. But my kdx200 isent in so good of shape now. Straps broke doing 60mph and flew off the back of my truck witch I have a flat bed. So yeah shes all kinds of broke and bent up now. The thing is I got those straps new 2 days earlier and the straps broke right at the rachet so clearly it dident rub on anything. It is what it is I guess

Service everything, new rear tyre, rebuild the engine, clean+jet carby and maybe respring it so its not bouncing around like a mofo and theyd shave some seconds for sure. Could probably do most of that for under $500

@@AjCatanzaro After not riding dirt for decades, a few years back I came *this* close to picking up a KDX200 to ride along with my son, who got beyond the beginning stages. The KDX didn't have a title, and I ending up finding an XR250R that I bought. I think it's pretty comparable to the KDX, except 4-stroke vs 2-stroke. I'm basically a trail rider, but admire MXers a ton, and would like to make progress in that direction. I know it's mainly the rider, but I feel that the XR doesn't help in that regard. That's why I was wondering how much somebody like you could get out of a bike like a KDX200 compared to a true MX bike. For me, anything more than a little air makes you come down like a ton of bricks, and doesn't inspire confidence, or motivates to progress.

kings17court The kdx and your bike are not designed to be jumped at all, you would be amazed what a mx bike would feel like jumping compared to yours. Although the kdx handles braking bumps and corners so well!!

@@AjCatanzaro My son is currently on a CRF125F, after starting on a PW50, and then a KLX110. After the 110, I came *this* close to getting a KX65 for him, but changed my mind knowing how explosive, peaky, and on/off they are, especially with no power valve. We are very close to upgrading to a KX85 or YZ85, which should open up jumping possibilities. Our last trip to Durhamtown he was jumping doubles on the peewee track, and even though he was pulling them off, you could tell that it was not ideal. When we upgrade him, I might be looking to upgrade myself. Let's see how this corona virus thing plays out, and how long it takes. I'm currently pretty much a "roller" on an MX track, rolling all the jumps, except for some air on the singles. If I upgraded to a true MX bike, I would not be able to use the bike as an excuse for being a scrub/spode.

If you’re having carb issues check your block o ring gasket .. known issue

Do a google search for pwk block o ring gasket , it’s inside the bowl , it’s where the jets bolt up to . There’s a video somewhere on how to test yours to see if it’s leaking , it’s a common problem on the H series kdx200 carbs , I’m unsure if the same carb comes on the 220 it probably so .. I had to do mine .. it runs like new now
