We received ours two weeks ago, it’s great. One of our ebikes is 72 lbs and the other one is about 50 lbs so we got the ramp also. It takes about 10 minutes to place the rack on our truck and load both bikes. One bike is a fat tire and both bikes ride securely without any additional strapping. We ordered it in the beginning of January and it arrived the middle of march.

This rack is super nice, price is steep though, I'm not saying it's overpriced, just expensive. I have the Kuat NV 2.0 with a one bike add on, the Thule T2 XT, and the Saris MHS with a single bike tray since I always struggled with bike racks on my Jeep Wrangler with 35 inch tires, including the spare one. None of them really worked, I also have a Yakima fulltilt and no rack (of the ones I have) seemed to work with the spare tire. I should've gotten this one instead, it probably would've cleared the spare tire but who knows, I'm a bit of an impatient guy so the wait time is a bit of a deal breaker for me, as well. I ended up getting a spare tire delete kit for my jeep and they still don't work as intended, I'm still using a Kuat hitch dropper/riser to drop it 2 inches and it still barely clears it. I love my jeep but it definitely has to go now. Not sure why I wrote such a long comment but I had to say it.

@Baldhills
@Baldhills 2 жыл бұрын
I would think if the contact point is not on the lower half of the wheel it would work ok. If it’s on the bottom half there will be no downward pressure to capture the bike. The design of the rack is to force the bike down and capture it. This rack won’t work for my eBike as the rear fenders cover most of the rear tire. I really wish it would work. This is a really nice rack, but intended for bikes without fenders.

Very neat design. The use of aluminium to keep its strength and yet still be light and easy to carry. One observation thou. Usually as a rule you would put the heaviest bike nearest the car but in this demo, it looked like after the fat tyre bike handle bar only just managed to miss the boot lid when opened being in the second position. (5.45) As I have an Ebike and predominantly ride alone. This could be a issue. Or just that the camera didn't do it justice. Anyway, looks great

Hey, Frank. Personally, this is the most secure rack that I have ever owned (Amy B, Sales Rep). I have no fear of it falling off, even when 4-wheeling out in the desert. With my vehicle, and hopefully all of them, the hitch fits into my receiver nicely with no wobble at all. There are two aluminum pads on the hitch, which expand with a twisting handle to reduce wobble, which makes sure that the rack sits well in your hitch. I will give it you, it is a very thought out redesign from the 1up racks that do have some design flaws that could be addressed. But looking at your prices just for a two bike rack setup at 920$ US Dollars before tax and shipping costing up to 1000$ dollars after tax i much rather spend the money on a KUAT or 1up rack and save some money.

The Mach2 is priced to reflect its ease-of-use, which can't be matched thanks to the 100% no-tools design, e-bike capability, & portability. With the inventor of the original Quik Rack in our corner, you can expect his latest model, the Mach2, to be the industry standard. It’s lightweight, modular, and can handle 300 lbs. Cal’s racks have stood the test of time and we know some of you are willing to invest in the best. We are also 100% American-made, which naturally poses cost challenges, but we remain competitively priced with other 4-bike systems. We hope you'll consider investing in the latest & greatest. Please email Sales@QuikRStuff.com with any questions and we'd be happy to aid in your decision.

@@quikrstuff I wouldn't call it light weight. 28lbs for the single, then another 20 per add on? That gets heavy quick. And lets be honest, who is going to disassemble the rack fully each time it is used? Really good presentation and an intriguing engineering exercise. But it seems very impractical. My current rack is heavy, and a pain to store, but it is easy on and off for the most part with just one hitch bolt and a pin for pivoting it out. And dang, that thing is fiddly. I just want to load my bike and go, not spend 15 minutes getting my bike rack ready.

One question - I'm considering picking one of these up, but my wife an I just added a family/cargo bike (a Yuba Spicy Curry) to our fleet. The Yuba's wheelbase is just below the max listed on your website at 55.7" (your website says max wheelbase is 56") - have you guys tested a bike with this long of a wheelbase to confirm whether it works? Thanks! Also - side comment: The rack looks great, the logo is great, but the white logo stickers on the black rack look like an afterthought. IMHO a vinyl decal or a waterslide decal would look much more polished. Even the same sticker with a black background would be an improvement.

Excellent review! One BIG question: I have two fat tire e bikes with FULL fenders. How can a bike attach to this rack with fenders that extend over the entire top of the tire? My rear fender extends to about 9 o'clock on the rear wheel.

This rack depends on putting pressure on the bare tires. You need to look for another system.

Could you do a video to show real life usage? I expect most people will not treat it so delicately. At least give it a good shake to demonstrate how stable it is and how the add-ons don't wobble etc.

With a 300 lb. capacity, "delicate" isn't in the Mach2's vocabulary ;) customers have said it's the most solid rack they've ever seen. Check out our customer reviews and demos: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/btNlq7lo0texp58.html Follow us on Facebook and Instagram @QuikRStuff for the latest videos & updates.

Significantly more pricey than the 1Up...but this hitch lock system looks far better designed than the single ball bearing in the 1Up. I am working thru a warranty claim w/ 1Up, as mine failed. While on the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands NP, my 1Up rack came out of the hitch. I had it secured for security reasons w/ a cable and padlock (purchased it before the security lock option was available)-so I dragged my bikes in the rack about 100 yards before noticing the rack 'missing' in the mirrors. It caused several hundred dollars damage to the bikes, but minimal damage to the 1Up rack-somehow, the ball bearing came out/loosened, and just a few replaceable components got bent slightly (I always drive to what the conditions allow off road-unwilling to damage several K$ of bikes on the back of the truck). No mechanical failure of the hex tightening screw-which happens but isn't advertised/discussed in any reviews I've seen. I'm working thru the warranty process w/ 1Up currently, and will be posting an updated review of that product once we reach an agreement. Knowing what I know, having piece of mind for this system would be worth the extra money over the course of owning this rack-I thought the 1Up was the last I'd buy, but I think once these become available again, I'll sell it and order the Mach 2 and additional trays....

Sorry to hear about that. We are confident the new design has solved many issues with original Quik Rack that Cal invented and designed. After 20 years of feedback, he learned a thing or two. :)

@@quikrstuff -I agree, your updated design is superior to the original. Hope you get your shop up and running soon-CV19 timing couldn't have been worse for you. In the meantime, I'll keep using the 1Up. I did post an updated, fair review for the 1Up rack on many KZfaq channels-with a recommendation for how to add a simple cable/chain and the KZfaq video for it to keep the rack from coming out of the hitch. I just don't want anyone else going thru what I did. Best of luck to your company.

tried waiting until this came to market but went ahead and got a 1up 2 years ago. unfortunately, the tire spool bolt is seized/oxidized and now i cannot remove it in order to install the fat tire kit. meaning the rack is only ever going to accommodate bikes up to 3" and i have to go back out into the 30 degree weather to reverse the install of the one tray just to bring any bike anywhere. GRRrrrr. meanwhile, i planned on taking my fat bike home (to where it snows all the time) this holiday. i may hear back from 1Up, but not typically in a timely manner and frankly, the custy service has been minimal and likely they will have no answers for me in this dilemma.

Cal Phillips was the original owner and the inventor and designer of the Quik Rack. He is no longer associated with (company name removed for legal reasons) and is now designing for QuikRStuff. It’s the rack you know and love, but Quikr. 14 new patents, modular, lightweight yet heavy duty, NO tools required, easy access release trigger (no more reaching blindly and dislocating a shoulder), quick Add-on addition/removal (did we say NO tools already??), easy wheel size adjustment, amongst other improvements that relieve your bike rack woes.

@@quikrstuff Thanks, I was in Grand Junction this past weekend :) and we lost one of the pieces that pushes down on the tires on our 1UP due to it not being tightened when I adjusted it for our bike with 20 inches wheels so a toolless design would of been nice. They appear to be using $1 nut and blots for this piece (supply chain issues) so I'm a little miffed that we lost the piece on our $1000 rack somewhere on i70!

What options are available for an eBike with fenders? Thanks
@quikrstuff
@quikrstuff 3 жыл бұрын
There are two types of fenders: Plastic and Steel. Our suggestions are: For plastic, the spool will push down the fender to the tire for a snug fit. For steel, you could take foam pads, and cut it to wrap around the spool so that the fender will not get scratched. We will be releasing a pad that is matched to the spools and are determining the best material for the job. NOTE: Sorry, but we are not responsible for any damage to fenders due to these suggestions and your usage of them. As long as the tire spools hug the tires ABOVE the horizontal mid line of the wheel, it is secure. In other words, the contact should be above a line drawn horizontally from the axle (above 90 degrees).
