It's a straight line, traction doesn't limit you. You don't need that much downforce, let alone weight!

The actual downforce needed is dependent on the actual weight of the vehicle. Can weight play a factor? Definitely. But not as much as overall aerodynamic design does.

Years ago as a kid we used a Velodrome to do Oval racing. Stood up in the seats so we could see the whole circuit. Ran an RC10L round it. Was fast but no where near this fast (was brushed motors and NiCad batteries then, now it's brushless and LiPo, way more powerful)
