In what one could consider one of the fastest 4x100m races across the board in U.S. high school history, FOUR teams dipped under 40 seconds in the 2024 UIL 6A boys final and national record-holders Humble Atascocita took home the win in 39.14.
39.14 makes for the second-fastest time ever recorded in the event in U.S. high school history. Atascocita, Duncanville (38.47), Galena Park NS (39.79) and Katy Tompkins (39.85) all went under 40 seconds in the final.

@@kandicep3052thank you !!!!! Unfortunately even the announcers don’t realize the lead is determined by the exchanges. The lanes are staggered so you go by who gets to their next leg first to determine the lead. 1st leg was tied. Atascocita had the lead the rest of the way…AND their last leg could’ve been behind a little and still would’ve won.

The Jamaican's come to Penn because it is a very big meet for them, but the Texas teams are preparing for their state meet and are not that concern about showing up at the Penn Relays. The Jamaicans teams brag about beating the best in American, but they haven't seen the kind of smoke coming out of Texas.

@Ayinde65
@Ayinde65 Ай бұрын
@@Nylah-us6tb The Jamaicans can say the same about competing back home. They get more competition there than they do running in at Penn. I was at Penn last week, so I saw them in action. Furthermore, the JA boys HS 4x100 record is faster. Americans have to be #1 in everything, but Caribbean kids run constantly 12 months a year. The kids in Texas are probably faster than those in the northern states because they're also outdoors most of the year, like kids in the Caribbean. However, look at the fastest runners in college (usually from the Caribbean) and on the international level. This is the case even though the US has the best facilities, hundreds of colleges which prepare runners for int'l competition, sponsorship, and better science. I chuckle everytime I hear a country of 400 million obsess about beating a country of 2.5 million.
