As kids we did something similar for a treehouse. We found a company that sold big drainage pipes and they had these big rubber pipe seals that were basically giant rubber bands. We'd loop a few together and use them as a quick escape from the treehouse about 20 feet up. Good times. 😂

That's a funny comment but actually it's not externally powered...uses electrical resistance (motor braking) by crossing the poles of a permanent magnet motor. The "on" position simply closes the unpowered circuit.
