I don't enjoy Phonk at all, I find it mostly repetitive, but damn this is excellent, very unique.

This sounds amazing. I put it on my work out playlist. Hey can you give me any tips on how to make phonk like this. I've been trying since a long time on (FL STUDIO) but i still can't make a good melody for one. Liked and subbed too.

Thanks so much for the support! Here are some tips I can give for making similar phonks like this one: 1. Make a top line / high end melody that sounds good and is not repetitive. The top line / melody is in the high frequency range of your song, like the high pitched synth i have in mine. This melody can be complex or extremely simple, as my top line melody contains literally 2 notes. 2. My second tip would be to make a good bass melody. This bass melody should complement your melody / top line. An example would be using the same notes as your top line, but in a different combination (basically make the bass melody and high end melody sound like they are from the same song, and not two completely different songs). Melodies can take some time to come up with, and it’s completely normal if you’re stuck. Sometimes I try to take inspiration from other artists to get my creatively flowing again. 3. My third tip is the kicks. In Brazilian phonk, like the type of phonk this is, uses a loud distorted dominant kick. If you listen to this song in particular, you can hear a softer kick that plays steadily and more often, and then a large louder kick that plays every so often. Now for making the large kick, I just took a normal kick, and added some distortion to it. This makes it sound loud without actually being louder than the music itself. For the normal more frequent kick (if you want one), I just used a basic 808 kick. 4. My fourth tip is a mid frequency melody. This melody is usually 1 octave lower than your high frequency melody / top line. I usually make this melody more subtle, and not as loud as the other Melodies. This melody can either be very simple or more complex, containing things such as power chords. Remember to keep this melody related to the song, such as using the same notes as your bass melody or top line melody, but in either the same combination or a difference combination. You can add different additional notes to each type of melody to spice things up. Example: your top line melody contains an additional F note while your bass melody contains an additional E note. Just remember to make all those melodies complement each other. Good luck!
