The ironic thing is that he's critiquing 90% of the liberal hipsters in that crowd. As a culture we've lost our way. We don't listen to music on the basis of being metaphysically challenged or out of the awe of excellence of the craft. We listen to it because others tell us this is what we ought to listen to. We listen to it because despite uncritical reflection, it evokes a "positive vibe". As a matter of fact, entertainment infiltrating all musical genres and tracks has the same origin as entertainment infiltrating politics. You can't praise the phenomenon in music and condemn it in politics.

This was a breath of fresh air and should happen more often. I love that he spoke his mind on stage and didn’t give a fuck what people that heard him thought about it because fuck it. He’s American, he lives in this country so he has the right to speak his mind about it and I’m glad he did. Hope he does this more often. I read comments that he’s “pretentious” that he’s a “hipster douche” that he’s a “satanist”. So fucking what people. I don’t agree that he’s any of these things except maybe a satanist, Idk....but so fucking what if he is?! If that bothers you then you have bigger problems because being a satanist probably isn’t what you think it. I’m atheist and I support satanist.
