This never-aired half-hour episode was commissioned by the U.S. Treasury Department in an effort to promote buying savings bonds. It was sent to schools, civic groups and churches for viewing. The message was that by buying savings bonds they would help save the country from communist rule.

I remember purchasing bonds in elementary school. We took a dime to school each week, the dime was put into a card to earn a bond. I was so proud when I filled my card. I didn't even know savings bonds were around anymore.

These days people talk about rights all the time, but nothing about responsibility . Even something as small and easy as wearing a mask is completely politicised and treated as a violation . I don’t understand it- would these save dissenters have avoided the draft and refused to carry/wear gas masks back in the war?

The most ironic comment- the dad on this show worked as an insurance salesman & was home for dinner every night (basically never worked after 6pm). He supported a family of FIVE who lived VERY well on ONE salary😂 They owned a home & didn’t live in a rundown, rented apartment complex. Yet you are saying people today want things handed to them. Looks like it’s actually the opposite
@Tigerroux

@@k.anderson5039Don’t forget, this was just a show. The father wearing a suit around the house wasn’t the norm. Housewives didn’t wear dresses and pearls doing housework. Middle class didn’t have a fancy home like theirs. My mother worked in 1950s and father only wore a shirt and tie. We used bonds as gifts back when, but now there’s CDs, IRAs, Money Markets, 401Ks etc. for savings, but yes, is hard today for any family to survive or save - thanks to the bad economy and all the other problems with America today. There used to be pensions, but not anymore. One good thing since 1950s was the existence of Medicare, but that could disappear too. Nothing cost that much during 1950s. Technology complicated the way we have to live today as well as helped it, but at a tremendous cost.

I love Leave it to Beaver, Hazel, Andy Griffith Show, The Jeffersons, I Love Lucy, All in the Family, Alice, What's Happening, Good Times, Three Stooges, just to name a few. Lol! I miss the kids running to the phone to see who would answer it first, playing family board games such as Monopoly, checkers, and Uno, family vacations, blessing our food and eating breakfast and dinner togetherr. I'm so glad to have grown up back then. Wouldn't be growing up today for anything. My now adult child was raised on these wonderful shows, and my niece's as well. They always asked "Was it really like that?" And indeed it was. They also said "We wish it was still like that." Today's young are truly missing all the amazing things we were raised with, and it shows.

A couple of weeks ago, I saw this episode for the first time. I love this show, but thought this episode was weird. Except in my comments, I used the word que** That was honestly the first word that came to mind. KZfaq deleted my while comment. I thought it was funny that this episode was talking about a government that monitored everything its citizens did and in real life, you can't use a word that the government deems as offensive, no matter how it was being used. Scary that parts of this episode are coming true.

I agree with what you say, but the reason your comment was deleted was because "queer" is another name for gay. You're not allowed to express yourself as you wish anymore. You'll be ostracized . It's part of the social control of the people that's being used now. They do the same in Cuba and in China. It's known as communism .

Do you have any other episodes that are rare? I never saw this one before. It is scary to see how much it is coming true .😢

Not really but wished that there were episodes that children can learn valuable lessons since parents are way too busy or don't have the time to help their children learn lessons about what society expect them to know already by the time they finish high school instead of being entitled.

IMDB says this conveniently fits into the schedule December 21, 1959: Why didn't they air it? Why did they just show it in schools and such? Because that demerits the film with the people who saw this show as entertaining and popular. The communist push was already on in 1959, don't think the central bank wasn't pulling the wool over our eyes even then.

Would you please just look at us now? Oh how I wish we could fix this mess with just the purchase of U.S. Savings Bonds, now. But we can't. We've long ago, stopped being diligent about preserving our freedoms. So we've become a tyrant run nation. We live in Tyrantland. And the only one that can free us from it is God, Himself. And He will. We, His people have repented, and have asked Him to. (2 Chronicles 7:14)✝✡
