I think the problem with their relationship is not the lack of affection, but the inability to translate said affection to closeness, they’re not good at communicating with each other(one has terrible communication techniques and the other is a kid) so whenever they ended up conveying their view on each other in near uncontrolled situation

There also Lara kin is rarely show emotion cause they can share thoughts directly so Lara rarely shown it

@@rezon5752 same.. Considering Rudys dream on his death bed and who was with Orsted in that final battle, only Lara, Ferris and maybe Luciella (Norn's daughter) make it. Although, Pax Jr making Shirone independent was part of Orsted's usual loops, though it was usually his father who helped it gain independence.

Lucy is definitely not dumb as you can see her thought/perspective in chapter on her first day to school, she definitely more mature than her ages suggest, especially as her being the eldest sister, so she definitely smarter than average person as she is very perspective since young age. But her talent is only slightly above average in everything, which normally is good enough but in Rudy family where most people is very talented, cause Lucy end up like Norn where she did develop a light case inferiority complex. which later fuel the misunderstanding and Rudy not home enough to talk to his kid properly.

On Lucy talent case, i said slightly above average coz i was considering only the fighting group of people (which usually fall around intermediate to high rank) for her combat ability, not including all commoner. And when i said talent, i also mean everything else, not just only her combat and magic talent. I view Lucy as more of a jack of all trade level of talent, which mean she is still above average but not actually talented at it so that why "slightly above average". Imo Chris is like Norn, her talent is only average but she work hard which do make it seem she is slightly above average. You know why? Ars fought with teeth and blood for his relationship with Aisha (though fair Aisha kind of groomed him), Eris even fought against Ars, ending in Ars' arm being chopped off (was healed later). At the end Ars was kicked out along with Aisha (they reached an agreement), so Ars would live with Aisha and become a responsible father to learn the consequences of his actions. (Aisha thought Rudeus would force her to abort it and heal her womb with half baked healing magic so she couldn't conceive anymore but of course Rudeus would never do that) To be honest it is good the author gave the only "seemingly flawless" character a flaw as big as that. The chapter was kind of weird considering it was the FIRST time Rudeus was the "morality" man, and though he wasn't exactly in the wrong... It was weird coming from the guy who have 3 wives, worships female underwear as divine relics, started a fan club for his own sister, commited kidnapping and sexual assault numerous times. Rudy cannot criticize anyone for immoral behaviour lmao

Orsted is giving him missions where the goal is to manipulate events. The purpose is to manipulate the events that will favor them which will happen in the sequel of the story in the far future, when Laplace is revived.
