Yes, I raised my daughters from ages 4 to 12 alone, pretending I was mom AND Dad! Then I met my second ( and wonderful) husband. I celebrated every day but he died at age 55 ( I was only 52). I still think of what a good father he was. You remind me of him, with your work ethic, your amazing skills and great sense of humor. He loved being a father too.🎉🥳👌❤️

My daughters got me two of "My Mom's Story" and a little polarid camera to take pictures of the things I like. Greatest Mother's Day gift I ever got. ❤

Happy Father’s Day Lester. When we were kids in the 70’s and 80’s, my Dad would take pieces of fried bacon and wrap it around green olives and put a toothpick in it. He would then grill them on a griddle or a skillet. They were delicious. You need to try it.

I have done the same thing, but added a slice of cheese (cheddar or cream cheese) and a thin long slice of jalapeño inside with the 2 smokies. I am a farm girl, no sensitive tummy here. If you don't like the jalapeño then leave them out and sprinkle the top of the bacon with a little brown sugar is awesome too.

My husband's dementia is so advanced that he does not know our kids or grandchildren and sometimes me. It's very sad for my kids but we all know we are still in his heart.

Happy Father's Day Lester and all Father's and Father's to be on Morrow Hill. Mom Dad here, my husband passed 20 yrs ago June 14. So I have parented my daughter alone for all those yrs. I am 66 and my daughter turns 30 on the 18th of this month. Yes he passed 4 days before her 10th birthday. Today she came and painted my baseboards for me and is making homemade pizza for dinner. She is an amazing daughter who probably is the biggest reason I kept going at times when I didn't think I could. She has always celebrated both Mother's Day and Father's Day with me. She calls me MomDad.

I gave one to my mom. It took a year to fill it out. She wrapped it and gave it to me for Christmas. However. I did not read it until she passed which would be 10 years later. I started reading it. Lord it was comforting and very hard. I wished I would have read it while she was alive. I want to say so much and now I can’t. House catches on fire, my cats and that book go out the door with me!

What a wonderful idea for all the Dad’s at Plum Grove! I’m sure they are delicious and will be enjoyed by all. If you want a crispier bacon, you can always try to precook the bacon some and after they are maybe half-ish done, wrap them on the smokies, or any other cut of meat you are cooking, the bacon will finish cooking during the oven time.A toothpick will help hold the precooked bacon to the meat, as it can sometimes be harder to want to roll. Yours looked delicious though Lester and a nice cooked treat, that you put your time and effort in, is always a welcomed gift! Enjoy your time with your boys at your Father’s Day dinner! ♥️
