We built this traditional cedar log cabin, mostly in our spare time! It's been a labor of love, with many challenges along the way, and we loved every minute of it! For years, it's been our dream to build our own cabin, but we grew tired of dreaming, and so we decided to make it happen. This is our journey... Thanks for joining us! :)

I miss my Dad. One early morning about 5:30am in 2003 there was a knock on my front door. It was my Dad carrying his old beat up wide rimmed straw hat that he always wore while working in his garden. He said to me "I need a place to hang my hat, Son. I replied "you can always hang your hat here, Dad".....The phone rang just then. It was my Mom calling to wake me up letting me know that she had found Dad, moments earlier, passed away on the sofa in their home a few miles away. True Event. Rest in peace, Daddy. Robert Edger Carlsberg 1925-2003. His old hat along with his old leather tool belt has a special place on the wall in the garage.

Quality is so obvious . The sound of the door closing on a well made car, the sound a folding knife makes when you close it . Things like this show what it takes to be dedicated and have pride enough to do something correctly . That is exactly what I see when watching these two true craftsmen at work . Something as simple as watching a log which has been prepared with groves fall into place around the windows and doors makes it a delight to watch your videos , I am so glad I found the videos and look forward to watching all of them . This is what I call entertainment . Not the trash shown on Network TV which try’s to pass as entertainment, Thanks guys

When I saw this pop up this morning I thought to myself its a great day to throw on my outsider shirt, sit on the couch for a few hours and watch it all come together. Although I liked every episode that you put up, having it all together for 1 video was truly awesome. I love the relationship between you and Senior Outsider. You know exactly what the other is thinking. I can't wait to see the inside build and it all come together. Thank you for this. Can't wait for the next episode.

I live in Québec, in Montréal, in Terrebonne, on “Rue D’angora” and here we live near a construction site that works 24/7, it’s crazy to see the amount of effort for all this to come together as only 2 people. As here they’ve built 2, 12 story buildings named “Tour Cachemire”, and “Tour Cachemire 2” taking them each 6-8 months to be built (though the first one took 5 years, I live in it), it’s crazy! I just stumbled upon this type of content, and i’m already hooked. Nice work, love the cabin already.

I just want to thank you both for a really great way to spend a few down hours during what has been a really tough week. My dad passed away 5 years ago on the 3rd of March and I've been really struggling to pick myself up and simply get through the day. My dad thought me so much about construction, love and respect for the great outdoors, and the importance of family but I never got to truly appreciate any of that with him as I have gone from a 19 year old college drop out to a 25 year old, self-employed general contractor since he's been gone. Again I thank you for this video that I'm sure I will be revisiting whenever I feel like I need a moment of down time with my dad. Bless you both, Andrew from Michigan. 🙏

I loved seeing you two working together on building you and your DAD'S Dream Cabin. I do love watching these kinds of videos this is my first cabin video to have watched. I watch a lot of the bush building videos where they build everything from bamboo. My children's father is a carpenter and I have seen a lot of his work before and after. I'm sorry to hear about your father's passing may God Bless You and your family during this time of sadness. My prayers are with you all. The building of this cabin will be with you forever. It was a joy to watch the two of you together. It's all the personal things that we hold onto that we shared with the loved one who is no longer here. I'm half way through this video and have thoroughly enjoyed every second. The precise measuring, cutting and tidy work you do is amazing. The location is gorgeous. The connection you have with each other and how you work so well is a joy to watch. My Dad died on Father's Day, I miss him so much. He was a self taught builder and some times we'd come home from school there'd be a piece of furniture or a bed had been made through the day lol. He made our kitchen, beds, wardrobes etc. He may be gone, but we have a lot of things in the house he built and will treasure forever. Building things with a parent is the BEST. Best wishes from Australia.

No question you both not only are real craftsmen and your work is beyond impressive, but it's not just another video of someone building something: the way you use camera perspectives, detail shots, drone flights makes this a video I would watch at the movies with a huge bucket of popcorn 🍿

This video just appeared suddenly and I watched it 'coz the cabin is cute...then,I found myself watching almost all your video. I got amazed with you and your father's strength and determination to build this just the two of you. It's a nice father and son bonding. Then,I sensed something common between us when you mentioned GOD at the end of all your videos, then later I've watched in your other videos that you are a Pastor...What a joy! I'm glad I found the answer, the LOVE for CHRIST is our common denominator. GOD bless you and your whole family,Pastor. Greetings from the Philippines.

I came across this video, my parents live 300 miles away, and they are down for Easter. My dad is 79 years old this year, a man who was not to many years ago very hands on, could do anything regarding building. So, tonight we have watched the first 40 minutes, and we will come back to watch the rest tomorrow evening when the house is quiet and we can talk while watching this. Absolutely fantastic, a great memory for you, and also for myself watching this with my dad!

Love, devotion, mathematics , precision, quality, extreme durability, will last a lifetime is very low maintenance. The roof is not going anywhere! I’m sure you had to build it that’s sturdy for The conditions you have wherever this is located . tremendously insulated . Beautiful country, lots of wild game around . I have thoroughly enjoyed watching this build. So lucky , to have each other in all ways . God has blessed you both with unbelievable talents. Tysvm 💜

How interesting! I always wonder what was used back then when I see modern materials, particularly the roofing materials, it must have been so difficult throughout most of our history to keep dry, unless you're in a cave! I suppose willow bark would have been the main protection? Did you feel warm and dry? How much was yours modernised?

My son and I recently began our own project. No where near the scale and mastery of this cabin; but at the least, a solid year of diligent hard work towards something, I hope, will remain in the family for several generations. This video has really elevated my enthusiasm. Very humbling. I'm now thinking--perhaps hoping--that some day, he and my younger son and I will start and finish a much larger project. Perhaps a family manor. No idea, but I think it would be great for the 3 of us to figure that out together. Amazing craftsmanship. And such an enviable fellowship between father and son.

I'd love to be there to give a hand. I used to help my father to do building houses, mosques. It's tiring but satisfying as well, especially when you see what your bare hands have done. As a teenage girl, I don't have that much strength as guy do, but I've learned a lot for years of building. And watching this, I've missed my old man, blessed his soul. ❤️
