it's so simple that it works. i mean that's literally the first strumming pattern i ever learn and this is the first time i hear it working this well in a song

The guitar feels so familiar to me like I've listened to this song before but I haven't

it's like the first strumming pattern a guitarist learns to play. good riddance and alot of other songs use it. this just feels more clear here because of the semi clear tone of her guitar. you can really tell that this is the probably the first riff she ever wrote for the EP and god does she have balls for making something this simple and putting it out there. it just adds to the song's charm for me

The chord progression is the same as in Waiting by Green Day.

This song reminds me of a girl I used to know in Botswana. Her name was Shazza, and she had a gammy leg, but for a girl with a gammy leg she used to dance better than my dad. He's passed away now. Shazza did have sexual relations with my best friend, Bud, but I forgave her, and I think that is what this song is all about.

Moustachehilarity: Well thank you. I think most people are confused by it, maybe because I have used a little poetic licence - I have never been to Botswana, and although I did go out with a girl called Sharon, both her legs were functioning normally, as far as I had a chance to know. And I made up Bud. But my Dad has passed away, and even before he did he didn't dance that well, so most of this story is true. BTW, I was once the proud owner of a moustache. No-one said it looked funny, but I always had the feeling some people thought it did.
