my skin is very oily too and i also do the powder trick but (idk if you've alr known this) instead of just use a puff to pack it on the oily zone i use a big brush to set the powder, dont use too much powder tho cuz as you said "it makes me look ashy", and instead of dab it on you kind of wanna 'roll' the tip of the brush on ur face (idk how to properly describe it lmao, check out msr jackie aina for the real technique cuz i suck lol), hope you can see this, have a great life, ily.
