Cutting larger is a great idea for those of us who have difficulty getting our block to come out the right size no matter what we do. I appreciate learning your technique.

Agreed! Mine always seem to be about 1/4-inch smaller than what they are supposed to be and I have no clue why. I probably don't have a true 1/4-inch seam even though I sew with a guided foot.

You can't make everyone happy so i really hope you stay true to yourself and just keep showing how you do things whether its complicated or not. I love how you show different ways to help us make blocks more true to the pattern sizes. I have definitely improved and think i am ready to start Spangled now that you have explained a few things. Love FQS!!

So, here's my idea..... Kimberly, your methods for piecing are amazing. It would be wonderful if you published a book about how you revise a pattern using your ideas that result in perfectly pieced blocks. Your tutorials are amazing but how great would it be to have all these methods in book form? You could call it, "Strategic Piecing and Planning for Perfect Quilts". 😊😊😊

I do learn alot from your style of sewing. I haven't adopted every tip, but my sewing has become more accurate. For me just slowing down and valuing accuracy is the key. You've been a role model for valuing accuracy. I used to sew just to "get it done" but now I am enjoying the process more. At any rate, you have a loyal follower as I tune in each week. Enjoy your time off and please know you have made a positive difference in this world. 🌍

As an intermediate level quilter, I like seeing you do advanced techniques. Sometimes it goes over my head but I usually learn something new I can try

I don't think you are crazy at all, Kimberly. Your blocks turn out beautifully and, thus, so do your quilts. I really appreciate your showing us all your tips and tricks so we can improve our skills, too.

I really enjoy seeing how you adjust the pattern to meet your style. It’s helpful to see how patterns can be adjusted. Not all pattern designers write patterns well and this knowledge can help improve block construction.

I would love to see you demonstrate what you always do, and then model a new method of completing the block or project. I would also like to see you model a new notion every time one comes out. You do a wonderful job, but need to quit worrying about doing everything perfect every single time. It is not necessary and anyway, no one’s perfect. We love you and appreciate everything you do and will support you either way.❤

Great video. I am glad I am in the club and ordered this pattern. I enjoy seeing your tips, tricks, and methods for doing things. Some things I may do and some things I might not but I like having the choices. Also one of the things I was most happy to see that you show and others don’t is that if your block doesn’t quite come out the exact size, you ease the sashing strips in. Mine sometimes don’t so I don’t feel like a failure and just ease it in and keep going. I feel so much better about my quilting. Also, I now starch, starch, starch and cut a lot more accurately now as well. Many thanks and enjoy your trip with your daughter. It is irreplaceable time!

I like your thought process even if it might seem more complicated rather than the easiest. It really helps to understand how to be a better quilt maker. Thank you for being a great teacher!

Kimberly's videos with hints, tips and tricks are really helpful to getting very accurate blocks. A true beginner may be a little overwhelmed, but anyone with any previous experience can learn from the videos.

Love seeing your tips and techniques, especially if it deviates from the pattern. Encourages us to branch out in new directions; like you frequently encourage us to do!

It's been 30 plus years since I've sewed and excited to start sewing again. My son's great grandmother taught me the little I know. Watching your tutorials has also inspired me to sew again. I like that you are a perfectionist as I am as well, and you care about doing your work correctly. Your ability to show how to solve problems are wonderful and helps me think of possibilities and not get discouraged. My son's great grandmother would be proud I've decided to pick up sewing again. Continue the great tutorials!
