The Quooker Flex cold/hot/boiling water tap is supposed to deliver a stream of finely aerated boiling water, to prevent scalding. After 2 years of use, the boiling water stream became initially cool, and once boiling temperature was reached, splattered badly. The cold water supply immediately after then became boiling hot.
Quooker Customer Service reviewed the video and advised me to fit a new Flex tap hose, which they kindly sent free of charge with fitting instructions. This fully resolved the problem. The part number of the Flex hose kit supplied was 31.234.00.
Dismantling the old hose, I found it comprises two concentric flexible tubes, the inner tube for boiling water and the outer for hot and cold. The inner boiling water tube had developed a small split, allowing boiling water to escape and mix with cold in the main outer tube. I hope Quooker have found a way to improve the durability of the inner tube, but even if it needs a new hose every 2 years, that is a small price to pay for this brilliant time and energy saving system.
If you are considering buying a Quooker Flex tap and this potential issue concerns you, you can always choose the Quooker Fusion tap instead, which provides the same functions but without the extending flexible hose.
