A polymer clay tutorial on how to obtain realistic fire opals in just polymer clay, without using resin.
The tutorial will show you how to imitate the milky fire opal, the matrix (boulder) fire opal and the Mexican fire opal. The Milky opal (with a different brand of flakes) was actually a sponsor release in August of last year. This is not a final version, just an easy way to DIYfairly realistic fire opals
As I have tried so many flakes until I got the Ice Resin flakes, I can tell you that out of everything, these were the best. Do not waste your money on the Lumiere flakes - there are super expensive (you get about 1/10 of the quantity in the Ice Resin flakes container) and they don't have half of the sparkle of these ones.
