If you were doing a marble floor would you do it in square sections to imitate large tiles or would you do the entire floor as one piece? Thanks in advance

As a decorator, on the floor I’d totally do that. I’ve seen it done and it looks brilliant. Look into the epoxy solution too.

Beautiful work with marble and wood. Years ago I met a man who said old time craftsmen use to use feathers to create a marble look too. did you ever hear that? Ed

That’s still common practice, in fact college P and D course by city and guilds use pheasant feathers I’m sure.

K.M.J. Coutinho yes, I’d would prime using a high adhesion primer like “BIN” two coats then sand lightly and then follow the steps in the video followed by 2-3 coats of water based polyurethane

I can.t find anything that explains how to fake marble on a gypsum surface. Do you know any technique? Basically someone asked me to imitate marble on a gypsum (actually CaSO4 • ½ H2O) collumn. Is it possible to apply colors on such a surface without them be absorbed and result a total mess?

Gabriela Iancu just prime then base coat and do the marble technique.for walls you will want to make it in tiles or squares to fit the the area. This technique is fine but there are many more techniques based on the marble you are trying to imitate.
