I like the idea of making a faux stone without using gloves and heavy layers of paint. I wonder if it simly would work without using alcohol ink, and just using colored polyclay instead, and achieve the same result. Maybe no, but worth to play with :)

You can use pre-coloured translucent clay, but not coloured opaque clay as it won't give the translucent effect. It'll be a pretty pattern, but won't look like agate.
