Add a very thin line of gold paint and perhaps instead of rolling the bead in it just dab it on with a paint brush or use a toothpick to make a “vein”.

I actually like the way the beads look with the random colors of the magazine photos even before painting them. I like both the before and after results. Will definitely try this today.

I LOVE Turquoise and have several pieces of turquoise jewelry. I also have a "turquoise" necklace made out of potatoes. It's quite realistic, I have had people comment on it without knowing it is potatoes. I will be making your rondelle beads though, they are super pretty!
